I loved the new Thor. Truly spectacular.

Loki's costuming was beautiful. You could just see how perfectly the material was constructed. Agh, I wanted to get up close and personal and look at it. (It didn't hurt that Tom Hiddleston is just, ngh. Lovely.) In contrast, I didn't really get why they had Thor in a big black cloak for the first half. Some allusion to it being Thor: The Dark World?

I loved the Loki/Thor dynamic. They're wonderful and sub-texty - and not-so-sub-texty.

The funeral scene was amazing. I will admit, I got teary. Rene Russo was so lovely. Sif was excellent as well. And Heimdel (sp?) was too. That scene where he runs down the rainbow bridge and jumps onto the invisble ship - totally awesome.

And that city, just amazing. I can't imagine how much 3D work went into that. (They must have had most of it for the first Thor? I don't recall.) Not sure how I feel about them having 'guns.' It seemed out of place somehow? I mean, it made sense as a defense system, but it felt like they were trying too hard to make it more action-y.

Darcy and Erik and Ian were fun. I also enjoyed how they had the humans being the ones doing a lot of heavy lifting (so to speak) in saving the day.

Previews for the new Captain America movie and the X-men Past Future whatever movie looked good. I'm still baffled by the trend to remake already blockbuster movies/franchises - Robocop, some Jack Ryan movie. Anyhow. The previews were good. The movie was good. Good times were had by me.
