This has nothing to do with the prompt, and it's 4:30 in the morning (stabs the non-working NyQuil) but here's hoping this makes some kind of sense to someone who knows both of these fandoms.

The whelp wasn’t looking at Mal, but clearly was talking to him, so Mal paused and stared down the awkward teenage boy hocking stuff near Eavesdown Docks.
Pitiful operation - the wares themselves, sheesh - but Mal could see a potential businessman here and for a second thought maybe this was Badger’s attempt at snaring him one more time...
“I said...”
“Heard what you said, boy, was wonderin’ more what you weren’t sayin.’”
A baffled Seth Cohen open and closed his mouth, a fish out of water.
