Jason found this old drawing I did over a year ago when he was going through his things. I forgot that I drew this, but I know I did it at work because there is some confidential work related stuff on the back of it:P. I think I remember sketching these figures from a photo off a
photoblog I frequent. Dull day at work, I guess.
In other news, I have signed up to take a Writing for Children course offered through GB and presented at my local library for the next 3 months. I'm hoping that it will give me a better grasp on the world of children's literature and illustration which I find to be one of the last bastions for classical drawing without neglecting new technology.
An interesting, out-of-print book on Canadian Children's Book Illustrators that I'm currently reading has re-introduced me to
Barbara Reid, an OCAD graduate who works in plasticine. I saw some of her pieces last year at a traveling exhibit of Children's book illustrators at the Toronto Reference Library and her work was particularly amazing. It renewed a love in me for Children's entertainment that I hope will fuel me of I get into OCAD myself.
