Busy, Busy: Craft Projects, Shrine Thoughts, and Dinner with People

Last night, Renee and I had dinner with sephatta . Yay for meeting cool local people! :-)

I seem to be in a crafty mood lately. I've made an anklet for myself (it sort of worked out that way with the number of beads I planned to use) with smoky quartz (a stone I and others associate with Hermes) and a second just like it to drape over Hermes's statue.

I've also begun some work on the Sekrit Projeckt - which of course is only a Sekrit Projeckt because I'm not sure if I have the ability to pull off everything I want to pull off so I'd rather work in secret (or Sekrit :-P) and not embarass myself until I'm done. Don't get too excited people, its nothing earth shattering.

Aside from getting a few projects done or started, I've been doing a little better about making time for Him while I'm sitting here with his shrine near by. I've not started my new list based schedule system yet, I'm waiting for the Noumenia for that one, but I am starting to think about who to include on the list for the first month. Still excited and optimistic about it.

Yesterday when I was hunting around the apartment for materials for the project, I found a bunch of old photographs I had, among them one I had taken of the first shrine I had set up for Hermes back when I was still living with my mother (not the first shrine I ever had, the one I created for Him when I started focusing more on Him). You know, it really wasn't bad considering I have no eye for design and a severely limited materials and space to work with. I'm thinking I should frame it and hang it up somewhere near the new shrine, show the evolution of my Temple of Hermes. :-)

Makes me wish I had photos of some of my other older verisons now. Like when I first moved to Baltimore and it was set up on one of the cardboard boxes my stuff came in because I really didn't have much in the way of furniture. Or later, when the thankfully ex-room mates did one of the few nices things they did for me and gave me an old TV stand of theirs to use as a shrine. That thing worked out very nicely and I think I arranged a good set up with it, and I do wish now I had photographed it before I split it up and brought some of the parts out to the living room here for my public shrine.

I do need to figure out exactly what I want to do with that second shrine now, the one in the temple room; it needs to be made over. I'm taking my time with it because the temple room is not exactly user friendly in the winter time, its very drafty in there and that room can hold cold like nothing I've ever seen; try to step in there without sneakers on and the tile floor would burn your feet. We have to have a space heater running for several hours before you can comfortably go in there for more than a couple minutes at a time, which makes it very inconvenient for day to day stuff. To think that room is really supposed to be a bedroom, I'm not sure how anyone could sleep in there, I'd be afraid to get out of bed in the morning (or worse, if I have to get up and use the bathroom in the middle of the night when I'm barely awake and might not be thinking about how I have to put shoes on first, oh that would not be pleasant).

I also think I may be back in a writing mood. So much fun to be productive. Instead of sick, like I usually am around this time of year. :-)
