Astrology

I may have to rethink my its full of crap position on astrology. Maybe my biggest problem with it was not knowing where to look.

I had my chart done by a friend, just to see if the actual breathing human working on it made a difference. And I got to ask the question what is it that makes me nothing like, and in many ways exactly opposite, of what ( Read more... )

So, you have Mercury in your 11th or 8th house. I have my Mercury in my 3rd house, the house ruled by Gemini, but Mercury in my chart falls in Leo -- the sign of 'the spotlight' (as I like to call it), a very central and solar role. So, the spotlight, for me, is a mercurial place which I flit into and out of.

I've got a Scorpio on my 5th house, with Uranus (Ouranos) smack dab in the center of it. 5th house being the house of Leo is also a house of 'play' and Sexorpio Scorpio on top of it lends it the keyword "intensity ( ... )

Yeah, how important the rising sign is and how much it shapes who you are (as opposed to being more of an act, a mask you wear like you said) seemed to vary depending on where I was reading. I read plenty that deep down your sun sign is the more accurate view of what you really are, but ... its not, not for me, and I highly doubt I will ever find out that it is. Just don't know what else to tell them.

Eh, there is no such thing as a perfect system anyway. :-p

I think your Sun sign is linked to your midheaven, usually -- it represents the 'day' persona -- the face you put on (ego) to the general public (superego), such as when you walk down the street to the corner store, even. Solar, the sun, sits at the center of our planetary system, and is always the hearthflame (even if that's Vesta/Hestia's Virgo territory, it's ruled by Leo because Leo is fire ( ... )

And the Sun is just one of the many planetary influences. If you were born with a Moon opposition your sun (you could be born during a lunar eclipse!), you'd be born under a full moon... and that could be potent, just as much as a moon-conjunct-sun (a new moon ( ... )

Well, like I said, the person who read mine could point out to a few factors that converged to wipe out the typical Taurus personality some people say I ought to have (and thank the gods for that, a very boring personality that one, in my own humble opinion). The interpretations given made some sense to me (like I said above, looking around the moon sign I have is about as horrible a fit as the sun sign according to most people's interpretations; I was given one that fit better by the person who read for me and looked at my chart).

That said, I still maintain that people are too individualized for a system like the to be perfectly right all the time, it can be a helpful guide but not set in stone (admittedly, that is one thing that has me not terribly interested in using it as a divination system, because I don't believe everything is set in stone like that - you may believe otherwise, but that is where I stand). Right now a little of what I've looked into has been more right than it was before when I mostly had a sun sign and ( ... )

Unless there is some side of Taurus that allows for everything that doesn't apply to me (and maybe there is in ancient text, I don't know), I'm going to have to continue saying it doesn't represent who I am, much less who I really am deep inside or what I'll become one day. I'm actually pretty okay with myself, far more so now than I was earlier in life (and when I wasn't, it wasn't because of anything internal, or at least nothing internal that did not have external help in growing).

I don't know the answer to that question off hand, what difference might that make?
