Update on various Hermes projects
* Been playing around with my beads. I am amazed by how well those beads all look together, I guess it just works out that way when he's choosing everything for me. :-) I came up with a pattern I like, although the necklace will be too short if I just do it once one the one side, and too long is I double it up (not to mention that I don't have enough beads for that). I don't want to change the pattern I have so far, just need to figure out how to extend it, add a little more to it.
I came up with a fantastic idea last night, to do that pattern four times each on two different strands and then twist those strands together. It would be so wonderfully symbolic, but I just can't fucking do it. I don't have enough beads, I think we reasoned I'd probably have to buy two more strands of each of the different sized pearls I'm using as spacers, in addition to more thread. I just can't do it, this necklace has cost me fifty bucks as is, I can't afford more right now. I keep telling myself I can always restring them later when I do have some spare cash, if that's still something I want to do.
* The first of my Hermes Devotional Essay series is almost done. Which is very exciting for me, I set a deadline for myself and it looks like I'm actually going to make it! Whoo-hoo!! I have just a little bit more to go and should have it finished, if not tonight (because I may be going out in a few hours) then tomorrow. Check for a posting soon if you're on my friend's list.
