Disgusted.

Admittedly, I need to catch up a bit but I just simply cannot believe the end scene from Persuassion (Smallville's last ep). I just. How did that even air? How is anyone supposed to (or I should say, "still") buying this is the "real" Clark Kent? Whom even thought this plotline was a good idea? Part of me isn't even shocked they want an s10 and ( Read more... )

I'm not going to lie, I was amazed and horrified at the imagery and I can't quite believe that people are hailing this heroic without questioning the utter stupidity of the writing and the direction and just the image of the towers crumbling. Like you say, I have no idea how it made it on to the air. No idea at all ( ... )

I'm kind of with you, Iliana. I'm afraid this is the story they're telling. Not that I don't really want to be wrong. But in a season of shiny DC-ers swarming in on the show, I think they don't care so much about the message as having a bunch of "cool" things happen to get buzz and secure milking another year out of this show, however much it doesn't jive with the spirit of Superman. If there is no eradiclack or brainwashed reveal and we're really supposed to be just fine with this douche, then this show will just go down, for me, as the absolute worst interpretation of Superman ever. Forget Nois. What they've made of ILL pales in comparison to what they've made of ICK.

Well, frankly, if one wants to go "It's DCitis" then one should look directly at the upcoming spoilers and whom *exactly* is coming back. There is no reason to bring him on UNLESS one is doing a brainwashing reveal.

Though why they would bring that arc to life, I don't know. It is not one of my favs nor do I remember anyone else loving it at the time (talking yes, loving no).

I'm all for Maxwell Lord being somehow behind Thug!Man, but I'm afraid it won't be a reveal to make sense of this season, but one episode of brainwashed, back to normal, set up that he may meet Lord again in Futureville, then schoopy ending scene for the thug and his braindead girlfriend.

I'm not even afraid of it. I'm just going to bank on it in the hopes of being pleasantly surprised by being completely wrong.

I really hope I am wrong, though.

I don't see the point of bringing up Lord now unless it's to do a reset - especially given the following episode title. What they will let him brainwash Clark then run away?

My issue is they allow Clark to be hopped up all year (boring) just so they can get Clark in a seemingly no-win situation for the finale and a cliffhanger.
