Wow, Valkyrie Profile merchandise!

This is incredibly cool, and I probably would have freaked out in fangirlish joy about... two years ago when I played Valkyrie Profile and became mildly obessed with it. The set has Lenneth, Lucian, and Lezard, if only it had Lawfer and Mystina instead of Freya and Arngrim, drat. Lenneth, Lucian, Lawfer, and Mystina (say that three times fast!) ( Read more... )

Is it bad that I somehow wondered who the man would be in that relationship? Arngrim is pretty manly, but it's Jelanda, and Jelanda's pretty damn neurotic.

FFXII will come out...YESTERDAY in Japan.

And October int he US.

You should force yourself to play FFVII if you want to watch Advent Children.

But that's like 25 hours I could use to replay a Shadow Hearts game and help Roger Bacon out, whose main goal in his 800 year life is to find good quality PRON!

I could give you a rundown of FF7 if you wanted to watch Advent Children.

Hopefully FFXII is good for all the wait it caused.

I still haven't checked out Shadow Hearts (no real time)

What can you tell me about Suikoden V? Does it look like its shaping up better than 4? Not that 4 was bad, but meh... I was dissapointed enough not to ultimately finish it.

Shadow Hearts is fantastic but getting more expensive.

I'm not too happy with the graphics of Suiko V. From what I've seen, they still have that blandness that was there in Suiko V, where everything was just kind of big and empty. I loved III's graphics for some reason; everything seemed to be so lively and entertaining. I also liked III's music the best out of all the games (minus the Gaidens), but that's relative since I'm not really a fan of any of the music save a handful of tracks in all of the games. The random encounters are supposed to be high, so damn. The plot is supposed to be really good, characters, etc, and it comes out next week, I think. If the plot is good and there are a few characters who I actually care about, I'll be happy. I think the consensus is that it's better than IV, and for the whiners who didn't like III is that it's better than that game, which is fine with me because I really liked III.

Wait, which one did you like better, II or III? I'm pretty sure you told me but I'm getting old and forgetful.

Yeah, my excitement level for FF XII is 0. I don't have anything against the series, really, it's just I think I read a preview a few years ago, and it sounded ridiculous; they at least tried to tread some new ground with FF VIII and X (and IX was good despite not being anything radical), but it sounded like here they were trying to make the most cliche FF game they could. "Callous pirate with a heart of gold? Check. Fun-loving thief? Check. Airships? Check." etc. I don't remember the details. Suffice it to say that I don't even find it worthwhile to glance at previews or news of it...if it comes out and is somehow radical and/or justifies its long development time, cool, I can buy it someday when it's $20 after I play 80 other games I gotta play. Otherwise, bleh. I just don't trust Squeenix and their brand-pimping.
