This is incredibly cool, and I probably would have freaked out in fangirlish joy about... two years ago when I played Valkyrie Profile and became mildly obessed with it. The set has Lenneth, Lucian, and Lezard, if only it had Lawfer and Mystina instead of Freya and Arngrim, drat. Lenneth, Lucian, Lawfer, and Mystina (say that three times fast!) were my main party except when I had to send Lucian up and during the 3892352 times I went through the Seraphic Gate. Or is it Seraphic Radiance? Wait, Seraphic Radiance is a fusion in Shadow Hearts, right? You think I would remember this since I like the game so much, but I'm getting old. What can I say? Who did I use when I didn't have Lucian? Jayle? Aelia? I wonder how the statue of Freya is supposed to stand, I don't think I ever saw her do anything besides float in the game. I wonder how long it took the designers to keep Arngrim's statue from tipping over due to his Immensely Long Sword of Compensation (TM!). I am surprised that Mystina isn't in the set; she was actually important to the plot, and she was at least as important as Arngrim in getting the good ending and making me sit through like an hour of cut scenes in Chapter 8 to get this good ending. There is a secret character, but I doubt it'll be anyone besides Platina, or maybe I'll luck out and it will be Mystina. Hm.
And uh, Final Fantasy XII is supposed to come out? Really? In Japan or the US? This goes to show you how much attention I've paid to Square-Enix in the past...four years or so. I haven't paid attention to anything SE (except for FFIV for GBA ♥ ♥ ♥), and I still haven't even bothered to watch more than the first ten minutes of Advent Children, not because I'm trying to make any sort of statement, but because I just honestly don't care about Final Fantasy VII. I kind of wanted to watch it, but then people were like, "This character isn't dead but I totally thought he was!" and I realized I had no idea who anyone was anymore, or who was supposed to be dead and whatnot, and it was just far too much effort to think about it all, so I probably just thought about Shadow Hearts instead. There's a group called the Turks, right? I have no idea what they do, or how Sephiroth tied into all of it anymore. He probably wanted to destroy the world, because that's what every villian in any RPG wants to do, save perhaps...well, I can't think of anyone right now. I think I played it last in 1999 or 2000, so there you go! You know, Shadow Hearts has eaten away many layers of my soul, come to think of it.
In short: everyone should play Shadow Hearts and buy those Valkyrie Profile figures and I have no recollection of anything in FFVII except that I liked Tifa, Cid, and Yuffie. And obligatory Suikoden reference because what kind of gaming entry would this be without a mention of it?
