What's Burning?

Jul 09, 2006 22:19

Tuesday was July 4th...yeah, go America.  Nothing really that big that day except dad, mom, and me went to visit Lola.  Actually it was to get grocery money but there was bonding too, esp. b/c of the humidity.  Wow, that just leaves a warm fuzzy feeling.  We ended up at Stew Leonards and my God freaking crowded.  It was the second time that I've ever been there.  Needless to say, crowds still don't make me feel comfortable.  No fireworks that night, at least for us.  I heard them from the window but we couldn't see them.

Wednesday I actually called some driving schools for driving lessons.  One of them hung up on me.

...

Needless to say, that was irking.  Friday I met Alicia at the Naugy library to help her with her math.  First thing we did wasn't even math, we just ended up talking about everything.  Oh and she gave me this cute silver heart jewelry case.  We were still talking when the library lady announced that the library was going to close in 15 minutes.  Whoa, how long had we been talking?  We decided to go over to Nardelli's (her new place of work) and work outside at one of their tables.  I started my fun criticism by asking if the plants are supposed to have the bar codes facing out.  haha, good times.  We eventually returned to math, started making fun of everything, ended up doing a majority of the work, and a lot of laughing.  She said that I made math fun; I think that's b/c I wouldn't stop laughing.  *shrugs shoulders*  There was this one problem that she needed help on and I was going over it step by step when she gave me a weird look and said that there was a ladybug in my hair:

Alicia: Carla...there's a ladybug in your hair.  *continues to stare at it*
me:  *still looking down at the problem*  Oh, okay.  Well that's nice, would you mind getting it off my head.
Alicia:  Eww, I don't want to touch it.
me:  *eye twitches*  IT'S IN MY HAIR!
Alicia:  Okay, okay.  *unsuccessfully swats at ladybug*
me: Is it still there?  *looks anxious now*
Alicia:  Yeah.
me:  WELL GET IT OUT!
*Alicia picks up my gift*
me: ...
me:  OH GOD DON'T USE MY GIFT!
*she puts down my gift*
*sigh of relief*
*she picks up her Ti-83*
*wishes she had power over insects*
me: DON'T USE THE CALCULATOR!

I'll let y'all imagine what happened afterwards.  We finished up around 5ish and we're going to do the whole tutoring thing every Friday now...I think.  I can live without the bugs.

Yesterday was coolio.  It was a spur of the moment type of hang out so there weren't a lot of people who were able to come that I invited.  Mel picked Kuya and me up around 1:49ish and we went to see where she's been working.  Cute place, definitely would've been lost if I had to drive there but tha'ts not really saying much.  From there, we left for the Milford mall and wandered around until 3:30 when we were supposed to meet the rest of the group at Borders.  We went to Hot Topic where I ended up buying two shirts that aren't even for me.  -_-  One of them is going to one of Kuya's friends in anime club.  I better get a thank-you from him.  Any-hoo, on the way to Borders, we stopped at this kiosk b/c it was shiny.  I ended up spending $10.58 for a barrette, *sniffle*, b/c the lady that owned the kiosk wouldn't stop following me.  I also learned that lying about your ethnicity can get you far in life...at least in savings.  *bangs head against wall*  The first person to show up was Stephy.  We went back to Hot Topic and then Stephy and I both received messages from Racelle.  We all head back to Borders and meet up with Racelle and Gabe.  Introductions, blah-blah-blah.  We waited for Angelica and when she came we headed over to this park in Ansonia that Stephy knew.   Unfortunately Racelle had to cut out b/c she had already made plans to see the new pirates movie.  *tear*  When we left for the park, we had permanent seating, lol: Angelica/Gabe, Mel/me, and Stephy/Kuya.

That park was cute.  There's this wooden playground there and it is definitely targeted towards *ahem* younger audience, but all the same it was fun.  We played on the field mostly, just tossing around a frisbee.  Kuya and Gabe were the obvious experts with Stephy behind them.  Gabe ran after the frisbee in a goofy manner and there was this hole/ditch that he kept falling into.  Good times.  Took some pics, beat on Gabe for looking through my bag, had yells of insecurity, pretty good all around.  We left for Beacon Falls and ate at the Pizza Palace for an affordable dinner.  We actually ate upstairs, woo-hoo.  More pictures and madness ensued.  I wanted to take them all to the creamery across the street from us but we only had 20 minutes before they closed so we opted to go to Friendlys.  We actually talked to Alex for a while on the phone.  He sounded happy enough but Gabe says that's b/c he's drunk.  I believe it.  Alex said that we should all come visit him in Syracuse b/c he lives in a 4-story apt. with tons of cases of beer.  lol, he called me "random Asian girl".

After ice cream, we headed back to my place where Gabe, Mel, Kuya, and Angelica went up to the pool gate to get a glimpse at the pool.  Ran into some neighbors last night which was not entirely good.  The main pain was this woman who told us off, which I would've understood had we been everything she accused us of doing.  She went on about how we're right under her window, that there's people trying to sleep, and how it would be nice if we moved along.  There was even shooing actions and she just glared at us until we moved.  It may surprise some of you, but we weren't loud at all.  Yeah, wrap you head around that.  I'll admit there was a lot of traffic on the bridge that we were standing on, but those people were gone and we were the ones that she saw.  Also, we were not under her window, technically.  We were at a diagonal; if were right underneath it, we would be in the pond.  Gah, she was irritating and she really bothered Kuya.  Unforgivable.  We moved indoors, said hi to the security guard, and sat for a bit in the main foyer.  We talked a little and even planned to see the pirates movie and to hang at Lake Compounce.  Amazing at how that all happened.  We had to say our good-byes and such b/c Kuya was feeling really uncomfortable.  During one particular hug, *cough* my bra came off.

But enough about me I hope that every one is having a dandy time!  I uploaded new pics in my facebook so I hope that y'all enjoy them, and if you don't have FB, E-mail me and I'll send you the pics.  :-)

Cookie paw prints make great ninja stars.
