ABC's hyped-up dramas

those two lil'reviews were sitting on my desktop for sth like two weeks now. I've thought about editing them a bit, but since then ABC pulled The Nine off the schedule and I was a bit disappointed with a few plot ideas I've read about that were happening on B&S, so I might as well post this thing now ...or never.

THE NIN9
the cast is exceptional. half of the show main stars had been a part of a core cast on other successful ensemble shows.

Tim Daly as a main hero, a romantic lead nonetheless, was a unique choice, but it was his charisma that brought me to this show...

However, I admit to having a huge crush on Scott Wolf during his Party of Five days, although who hadn't, right?

Nevertheless, the show fails to capture it's lead stars' charisma. you see glimpses of greatness, but is it the script or the shiftiness of topics or a poorly executed pilot in terms of establishing relatable characters, I doubt I'll be watching episode 3 anytime soon...

BROTHERS & SISTERS
I was reluctant to even see this. partly due to the show being retooled so many times, I lost all faith in it. being however slightly (not a pun!) disappointed w/The Nine, I decided to give this one a try and -if not enamored- I was pleasantly intrigued. I'm far from calling it a great show, it seems to me it tries too hard. however those could only be the heavily re-edited pilot eppies. so I'm giving episode 3 a try sometime soon.

I was put off by Jonathan LaPaglia being replaced, but I've been a fan of Mathew Rhys since The Green Stone, so I'm glad to maybe seeing more of him. And having Calista Flockhart and Brenda Chenowith Rachel Griffiths *and* Sally Field, there's ample room for *greatness* and very few ways this show could go wrong.

1x01, 1x02, the nine, brothers & sisters
