sloppy editing. definitely tv-budget. though nice casting; esp. the male actors. the plot isn't entirely original, but puts a nice spin on things Angellike. unlike with Moonlight, our hero isn't a vampire - almost wishes he was one, so that he wouldn't see his unchanged face in the mirror. he is deeply emotional and has these almost soulful eyes - though that epithet is for me, thus far, reserved only for Jason Behr's Max Evans.
the hero of the story comes close to moving you, however the editing often puts you out of a scene, cuts off any emotional connection you might have had the chance to develop otherwise - which of course is a damn shame. though this might improve later on in the series. hopefully.
definitely liked the music. and the general tone of the show. which in no case is a ripoff of shows that were and nicely establishes itself as its own thing. good Pilot. though not great. I'll be looking forward to 1x02. have to say, however, that it gets a little cliche at times, thought that hopefully too will change later on and can be mostly attributed to this being "only" the Pilot...
