It really comes down to how you feel. If you feel you can see it going somewhere or at least feel like you want to take it farther to try and find out if it's something worth pursuing then that's worth the risk of trying to find that out now than finding out later to end up hurting yourself more.
There is and will not be a straight foreword answer to relationships that's what keeps them so interesting and what keeps people involved in each other's lives the yearning to want to be around them more and go through life together. If it's something where you feel it hinders you more than you enjoy it, it's likely not something you'll be looking for.
What it comes down to is whether or not you see this as something that makes you happy. I'm sure it does, but a lot of things can make you happy now, but if you can foresee it not ending up that way in the future then really as Olmec would say on Legends of the Hidden Temple "The choice is yours and yours alone!"
