My Update - Long Overdue

Dec 21, 2007 14:43

Well it is that time of year again… Christmas!!! My favourite time of year!! I must admit that it is 4 sleeps and I am pathetically counting down the days. You see this Christmas is going to be different, mainly because my mother has decided that because my sister has proclaimed that we have never had a “proper” Christmas that we shall have one this year… and also my excitement is due to only knowing what one of my presents will be this time around. So mum’s cooking the ham today… a definite Christmas must-have in our family, and she’s already cooked the biscuits and sponge ready to be made into “SNOWBALLS”. So this is the first year in awhile that we have been allowed to have a Christmas tree up as the dogs are no longer puppies, and we even have a “Polar Express” train to go around the tree. Plus Tara (my sister) and I, as well as the dogs each have our own Christmas stockings filled to the brim with presents. Christmas lunch is going to be grand with my grandfather coming over and my aunt from Bunbury is coming down as well they enjoyed it so much last year that we are doing it once more.

Now for an update on me! I did exceptionally well at uni this last semester with a high distinction, 2 Distinctions and a credit. Love life has been a little crazy this year and I am back with my ex… yes I will be the first to admit that I am sooo tragically in love. But you know I do feel like that one “rebound girl” at times, but I know that he loves me and yes I do feel special. Work is grand and I still love it, although I cannot believe how many staff have come and gone throughout 2007. I’ve been working on some montages to be uploaded in 2008…. Including one of the family, gymnast Ekaterina Kramarenko… yes I do like her gymnastic ability even though she may have have baulked on her vault in the team final of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, and there is also one that I feel is a bit of a surprise so it’s for me to know and you to find out.

In 2007, I have loved Home and Away, and was sad to find out that after all these years stalwart Kate Ritchie was to be leaving. I am loving the new show Gossip Girl - like OMG sooo totally addictive, and yes I do realize that it is aiming for that teenage market, but hey what can I say. Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Criminal Minds, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, the CSI franchise, Bones and Heroes, kept me busy watching television. 2007 Australian idol was also the one to watch and I still feel that Matt Corby or Ben Mackenzie should have been the final two, but hey Natalie Gauci wasn’t too bad and her version of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” was probably the time when I began to notice her. Prison Break was phenomenal and the idea of fast-tracking a few select shows to us, was pretty good. I am really looking forward to a few of these shows in the coming year - Women’s Murder Club, Dexter, Cashmere Mafia, Pushing Daisies, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Private Practice (even though I have had a substantial sneak peek).  And I am sure there’ll be others.

So yeah I am going to be doing many more posts in the coming year that what I have. Just be wary that first semester of uni next year I am doing 5 units, but I will definitely find time. Sorry for such a long post. Take care and Happy Holidays to you all. I will check in on Boxing Day, if not before.
I leave you with a joke I saw on Sunrise this morning.

What would have happened if the 3 wise men were women?
They would have asked for directions, arrived on time, delivered the baby, cleaned the stable, bought practical gifts and made a casserole.
But what would they have said when they left?
"Did you see the sandals Mary was wearing with that dress? I heard Joseph isn't working right now. Did you see the drummer boy? He can beat my drum anytime. Mary a virgin! Ha! I knew her in high school. I wonder when I’ll get that casserole dish back..."

Much love,
Emma xx
