Tora’s POV
Was this real? Or was it another dream? Did he actually come running back to me? I don’t deserve it, that’s for sure. But do I ruin this paradise again? Or be selfish and keep him to myself?
“A- Yuu…You don’t want to be with me. I can’t-”
“You’re damn right he doesn’t want to be with you!” I glanced over Aoi and saw an adorable red faced Hiroto.
“Hiropon, calm down. I’m not trying to do anything. He’ll make the decision to stay or leave. It’s not mine to make.”
“Aoi, think about this. Please, don’t make a mistake. I already lost one great man to another. I’m already hurt. I don’t think I can handle it again. It’s not so easy hiding this pain. I have to walk around and see him happy with someone else. I don’t want to see you miserable with someone else.”
His words pained my heart. Now I felt even more guilty. Hiroto is- was my best friend. I love him and care about him like a brother and I treated him like he was the scum of the earth.
“He’s right Aoi. I’d only hurt the both of you. And I care about him too much to put him in any more pain. I have feelings for you, Hiroto’s like my brother. I love him and I know he’s the better one for you.”
He looked up, stunned. He wasn’t sure what to say or do. So, I held him for one last time. “You know it’s not right for me to be the one you want after all that I’ve done to you. He’s the one who was there for you.”
It broke my heart to let him go. But I had to do it. There will be others. Now, I have to go set things straight with a certain woman. I need to get my life back on the right track and try to make it up to all the people I’ve betrayed.
I let go of Aoi and got in my car. I drove off and didn’t dare look back. I know he’s in good hands.
Hiroto’s POV
“Aoi, Tora is right. You have to make the decision. I’m sure after all that’s happened, you need some time to think. So, I’ll just le-”
“What you said…did you mean all that Hiroto?”
I looked at him and smiled. “Every word. I’d lose control if you ever got hurt like that again. I want to make you smile and laugh. Even if you decide you’d rather have your freedom.”
“So, you’d wait for me? Even if it takes a while?”
“Take how ever long you need. I can wait for you as long as you’d let me. I wont give up no matter what Yuu.”
“I’ll take you up on that offer Hiroto.” he said smiling. “In the mean time, how about we cool it down and stay good friends?”
“Sounds like a plan. This time will be well spent getting to know each other.”
“And help our hearts heal. You know what?” he slung his arm around my shoulder, smiled, and started walking.
“What?” I asked, trying to hide on my face.
“Now you can officially say you’re good friends with the world’s star; Aoi.”
Yeah, he’s getting back to his old self. But I didn’t mind at all. It feels nice to be in the company of the old Aoi. The normal Aoi. He walked me to my car.
“Hey Aoi san, thanks.”
“For what?” he asked looking at me rather quizzically.
“Oh, you know. I’ll see you later.” I in my car, strapped in, rolled down the window, and waved goodbye. I looked in my rearview and watched Reita and Uruha start talking to him. It’s good to know I still have a chance with him. Even if it’s gonna take some time, it’ll be worth the wait.
Uruha’s POV
“So what happened exactly?” I asked my fellow guitarist. He hesitated to answer, opened his mouth to speak, and smiled. Reita and I exchanged confused looked.
“Everything worked out for the best and that’s all there is.” he said, sliding his shade onto his face with a smile. “Come on, let’s go eat lunch. I’m buying!”
I laughed as he shuffled all the way to my car. Reita got into the driver’s seat as I slid into the passenger seat. Rei took off before I could put my seat belt on. I glared at him for it, a smugly smirked at me.
“So, do you guys like our set list?” I asked to spark conversation.
“I’m very happy with it.” Aoi answered.
“I love all our songs. So it doesn’t matter what we play as long as we’re playing. I’m thrilled to get on stage.” he said with a grin. I loved how happy he got when we discussed music. I’d do anything to see that smile of his. Such a bright, heart attack inducing smile he has.
“So, where are we going for lunch?” I asked to Aoi who was busy playing with his hair.
“Anywhere you guys have in mind?”
“There is that nice little Greek café not too far from here. I’ve been dying to go there.”
“Really Kou, why haven’t you told me? I would have taken you there.”
“Reita, you’ve been so busy preparing lately. I didn’t want to bother you about some café.”
“Are you kidding? You have stop being so afraid to ask me for things.” my boyfriend said with a soft smile.
“Sorry.” I said, somewhat embarrassed.
“Now to interrupt this sweet moment between you two lovers…Deity Zeta is it.” Aoi said, twirling his hair around his fingers in an almost absentmindedly way.
“That’s the name of it?” Reita asked.
I had no idea what the name was. I guess Aoi somehow knew. “Is that the name of it Aoi?”
“Yeah. I went there for lunch not too long ago. They have very good salads. That’s actually the only thing I ordered besides a sweet tea. Just turn right at the next light and go a little ways down the street.”
Reita followed Aoi’s simple directions. We parked right across the street from the café. It looked rather small from where we stood. But they had outdoor dinning with tables that had large blue and white umbrella. We walked inside and took seats at the first free booth near a window.
The girl with glasses and pink and blond hair walked over to our table. She was wearing a white button down with the sleeves rolled up to her elbow. Her skirt blue skirt stopped just above her knees and she wore a tie that was the same color blue.
“Hey, you’re Hiroto’s dog watcher. Mizuki, right?”
“Yeah, that’s me. Although I was his neighbor first.” she said with a smirk.
“Right. So, what are you doing working here?”
“It’s a part time job. Just trying to earn some extra money before I quit and start working my new job Hiropon recommended. Besides, not too many placed hire half-American woman around here. It was either this, or hostess club.”
“So you chose the Greek café?”
“Yeah. Besides, I know some Greek and that help me land the job.”
“There’s some lady eyeing you strangely Mizuki…”
“Damn…that’s the day manager. I have to put on my professional face.” she cleared her throat and smiled. “Welcome to Deity Zeta where you can eat like the Gods and Goddesses. My name is Artemis. I’ll be your waitress this afternoon. Would you like to start off with drinks?”
“We’re not ready yet. Can you give us a minute.”
“Take your time. Please.”
“I thought your name was Mizuki.” Reita said, looking just as confused as I was.
“Everyone who works here has to go by the name of someone in Greek mythology. They Greeked this place out. It’s kind of tacky if you ask me.”
The girl walked away leaving the three of us to make an order. I picked up the menu. I’ve never heard of any of this stuff except the salads and a few drinks. I looked over the menu. The hell, was any of this food actually food?
Reita’s POV
“Is this food edible?” Kouyou asked for the third time. I couldn’t help but laugh at him.
“It’s food Kou, it’s all edible. Don’t be so afraid to try something new.” Aoi said laughing. I can he still is doubtful.
“Kouyou, just order something. I’m sure you’ll be fine and I bet it taste good.” I assured him. I never had Greek myself, but the place smelled good. I hope it tastes as good as it smells.
“Are you guys ready to order?” Mizuki asked stopping at out table.
“What do you recommend?” I asked, not sure of what anything is. Plus, Kouyou was still uneasy about the food even though it was his idea to eat here…
She leaned close to us and whispered. “Go with the lamb chops with baby spinach. It’s the healthiest meat they have. If you order a salad, go for Demeter’s garden. It’s the only one with fresh ingredients. And tell everyone you know to stay away from this place. It’ll give you a heart attack and most of it’s not even authentic Greek.”
“Thanks for the heads up.” I said.
“So three Demeter’s Gardens and lamb chops on a bed of baby spinach?”
“Sounds perfect.” Kouyou said, forcing a smile.
“Alright, and what would you guys like to drink?”
“Espresso please.” Aoi said.
“I’ll take ice tea, unsweetened please. And this beauty will take a lemonade.”
I saw Kou blush and smile. She placed her hand over her heart and smiled at us. “Aw, that’s so sweet. Maybe I’ll find me a nice Japanese man to take home to mother.” she said laughing. “I’ll be right back with your meal and I’ll have someone bring you the drinks.”
She walked off quickly, nearly bumping into another waitress. She apologized and continued walking.
“Who exactly is that girl again and how do you know her?” Aoi asked.
“Oh, she’s Hiroto’s neighbor. She and her twin sister watches his dog a lot. I met her when I was staying with him.”
“Does she know who we are?”
“Oh yeah, she’s actually a big fan of The Gazette and Alice Nine. You wouldn’t have guessed by the way she acts so chill and nonchalant around us.”
“She’s pretty. I don’t see why she didn’t take a job as a hostess. She’d make a lot of money.”
“Would you want that job? I mean, you’re gorgeous and everything. And would make a ton of cash. But it’s also an awkward job. Sometimes Yakuza’s go there and pay you extra to come back to hotels with them. And you could get murdered that way. Plus, all the creeps you’d get stuck talking to…” Aoi explained.
“See, you wouldn’t want that? Besides, she doesn’t seem like the type who’d do it anyway. And I barely know the girl.”
“How many times have you spoken to her?” Kouyou asked folding his arms across his chest and pouting.
“Only three times before today. Calm down baby.” I kissed his pouty lips and Aoi rolled his eyes. “I only want you.”
A not so amused waitress appeared wearing the same uniform Mizuki wore. She placed out drinks on the table, not bothering to ask who had what. “Excuse me miss, but I had the lemonade.” Kouyou spoke up with a smile.
“Well that’s not my concern.” she replied with a sarcastic smile.
“Wow, I’m sure the day manager would love to hear how wonderful you’ve been with customers,” he looked at her name tag. “Medusa.”
The name suited her well. Boy, was she ugly. Her attitude anyway. “Whatever, I have another job. Enjoy your lemonade sweetness.” she sauntered away.
“Wow, talk about a witch…” Kouyou said, grabbing his glass and sipping through the straw. We all laughed at his comment. I nearly chocked on my iced tea. It was nice to have lunch in the company of my band mates and closest friends.
