I guess some exciting stuff has been happening. Amy, Ben and I got coldstone ice cream last night and hung out on the shore. Is it weird that I consider this exciting? Today I'm kind of having a free-ish day, although I REALLY shouldn't be. It's not entirely free, really only about two hours of it is. I went home after journalism and talked to Ben for a few minutes, and then tried to get into the west gallery to look at the new stuff they have in there but I think it was still closed. I'm just going to look at some poetry and school stuff online and sip my coffee. I'm really thinking about skipping english because we just took that exam but I should probably just go. I work tonight and then I should really start on my ancient lit paper.

Some more exciting stuff is the new topic that seems to be coursing through a lot of people's minds: grad school. Chris and I have been talking extensively about this and we finally visited Eric Torgersen yesterday to see what he thought of grad school, what he thought of US going to grad school, and if he even thought it would be worth our time. It was a really good conversation and completely reassuring. Eric basically validated our careers as creative writing students by telling Chris and I that he was almost certain our portfolios would be good enough to get into Central's creative writing program, which means we'd still have a moderate chance at an even more elite school. I guess this doesn't sound like that big of a deal in writing, but Chris and I are pretty ecstatic that a seasoned poet and professor has told us that we aren't wasting our time.

So some of my grades are crappy and I told Eric I was concerned that it would get in the way of being admitted to graduate school and that I had dreamed up this plan of getting my BS in english and then going right back to school to get two more bachelors in journalism and women's studies to raise my gpa instead of taking more english classes over and postponing graduation. I pretty much asked him what he would do if he were me and he said he'd go back to school for the journalism and women's studies degrees, which excites me greatly. What an amazing collection of degrees that would be and I would have so much fun doing it. I've already made an appointment with a financial aid advisor to check it out.

Holy crap. I am thinking about my future.
