The Peddlers

Sep 06, 2009 15:14

In the shabby streets and seedy taverns of settlements all over Azeroth, odd posters, leaflets and letters have been found or passed around. Some with crude, red letters and incomprehensible sentences, others speaking about the arrival of a new fair. Nothing would link the peculiar adverts together, but as of late, another poster found it's place amidst the chaos of notices and placards. The sheer monstrosity of the poster is what makes it stand out. Under the headline, which says "FREAK SHOW" with large, crimson letters, are paintings that could make anyone flinch. Drawn in painful detail, the artwork depicts men with swollen or missing limbs, a pair of siamese twins with sweat dripping from their foreheads and their dresses ripped to reveal two sets of legs infected with large, blue and black blotches. Last but not least is tall and sallow ballerina, only she isn't a regular ballerina. Half her leg has been replaced with some manner of intricate engineering -- A brass-coloured clockwork machine. She stands in an abominable pose, with her back bent backwards and a grin on her face that could only be the expression of a madman.
Under all the drawings a few simple lines of text can be seen, drawing no attention to themselves.

Looking for employees of all varieties. Merchants, stageworkers, performers and the like.
Contact Tanishia Shar'adore for more information on the matter.

OOC details:

The Peddlers, as the guild is to be called, will be a 'darker' guild, mainly focusing on illegal trade with a circus and freakshow-esque cover. It's still in charter form and we're looking for support on the idea, also to see if there is indeed basis for such a guild on Argent Dawn
What we're hoping to do, is create a band of traveling smugglers and performers who pick up a number of relics and objects on their journeys. While many of these may be perfectly legal, objects of questionable legitimacy will circulate in the back rooms.
Using the fair as a basis, taking RP out of Stormwind, making compelling storylines and creating global events are some of our most important goals.

There are no requirements to join the guild, except for solid roleplaying skills and the wish to participate in both events and everyday guild activity.
