Insurance update.
Right: the assessor came, and agreed the wall will need replastering, the floorboards replacing, and the sink & cabinet replacing. He thinks this will come to little more than £500, so will try to get me an interim cheque out for that amount. I now have to get one estimate for the work: they will pay the difference later. I also have to price up the other items damaged, including floorcoverings, and they will pay for those too. They won't pay for paint, wallpaper as they are considered only decorative. I now need to make a full list. The amount offered was much as I expected.
I did some clearing up in other parts of the house this morning. This afternoon after the assessor had been, I started throwing away damp mouldy crap from the kitchen. It will be a long job, and I've about had enough for today.
