Fall Semester

Well I got my grades in from the last semester. At first I was kinda bummed that I missed making the deans list by .05 points, but then I didn't care so much. I got an A in Balkan which was easy as Kyrou's classes tend to be, but still enlightening. I got an A- in my education class, which is terrific because I need at least a 3.0 in all edu classes to get my minor, and thats a damn good start. I got B-'s in Oral History and English, which is dealable. And finally C+'s in Speech and Ancient History.

Here is why I can live with those:

First off anyone who goes to SSC please whatever you do DO NOT take a speech class with Myrna Fynn because she is crazy. It was in the end a funny class that no one took seriously, but she changed formats and such things around so frequently that I'm just glad I passed. She changed her mind half the time and half the criteria she never even mentioned and then flipped when no one had done it that way. She is nuts.

Ancient History was an expected low grade. Besides sleeping through many classes the class was unfortunately not what I considered a good history course. The lectures had little variety and most days were spent looking at photos from Greece or Rome or wherever the professor wanted to show us pictures from, because he's been to all these places and has so many pictures. The grade of the class was determined upon a Paper 50% the bibliography for it 30% and being in class 20%. So a C+ is livable because that was the hardest paper I ever had to completely bullshit.

So thats what's up. So on to next semester where I will undoubtedly improve. I have decided to only take 5 classes this time around. I have 3 histories on the slate yet again, but hopefully with one less class it will make it easier. 6 classes was managable until I got a job and then it became impossible to keep up with, which is another reason I don't give a shit about fall grades being low. So next semester will be American Gov I, History of Religion, South African History, Intro Philosophy, and Teaching the Adolescent. I know Darien, so Am Gov shouldn't be too bad, South African is easy I've heard, and I know O'keny from the interview. The other 3 are up in the air, but honestly nothing can compare to the last semester full of shitloads of reading and writing and no time to do it in. Im hopeful. The end.
