You have to be honest! But wait, not THAT honest...
Sometimes it baffles me when people tell me "you can be completely honest with me", because I never know how much of it they are effectively ready to hear.
"What do you think of my boyfriend/girlfriend?"
"I wrote this thing. Can you give me your honest opinion about it?"
"I have this and that problem? What do you think about it?"
One of the most difficult things in dealing with another person is having to acknowledge that they are human beings with feelings. Some of them are more sensitive than the others. So even when they tell you "you can be completely honest with me", there are still some guidelines to follow.
