short update
1. My facebook and twitter accounts are not linked to my lj, so all comments I make won't be crossposted. I keep my facebook, twitter and lj accounts fairly well separated and I'll like it to remain this way.
2. Oh my god if I had known how much junk and dust a 2.5m x 3m room accumulates over 10+ years, I would have looked my mum firmly in the eye and said "that is an extremely unwise thing to do" when she suggested cleaning and refurnishing the room.
Or maybe not because it is rather gratifying to see how big and clean the room looks like now after a day of moving and floor/wall scrubbing. My arms are going to ache so badly tomorrow ugh but I'll probably have to help my brother assemble ikea furniture while resisting the urge to falcon punch him when he refuses to be as anal as me in ensuring that the screws are properly tightened etc etc.
Cleaning out the room yielded a lot of treasures though, things we had completely forgotten about. Old photos (my grandma was so pretty! And my mum has such nice legs why didn't I get that. and then I saw a photo and thought 'wow what a pretty lady' and it turned out to be my very manly uncle orz), VHS tape of my parents' wedding (need to find a way to convert it to DVD :D ), a gas lamp, what looked like a pair of chamberpots, tiny terracotta warriors, a typewriter.... the kind of stuff found in flea markets.
My mum has also suggested that my sister and I do a massive cleaning for our room but I think the amount of cleaning and throwing we did today is enough to drive that idea from her mind for at least a few months. Good, because I don't know what I'll turn up if I dig into the cupboards, I'm sure some of them will be embarrassing and I can't remember if I ever threw out that porny HXH dj I bought by mistake.
