Thirtieth Ink Drop [Action]

Sep 17, 2010 12:25

[Today was a good day.

It was moderately sunny, not too cold, and the wind was just right. So, Miyabi was bouncing her way toward the plaza happily, singing a little song in Japanese to herself. She had just finished a fresh batch of paintings and was going to spread them around the plaza for people to see.

And this time, she was truly proud of ( Read more... )

[Sokka is just... watching Miyabi go buy with that mallet all wrapped up. Although he has no idea it's a mallet.]

Miyabi, you went hunting? [Perring in closer.] Can we eat it?

[She scowls, still wet and highly irate. Also you should know better than to ask her that kind f question.]

I don't hunt, Sokka. I don't eat meat or fish, just fruits, vegetables, grains, and other stuff. ...And I don't think you want to eat this, but you're welcome to try.

[Maybe she finally saw the light. And being wet isn't an issue. Good day to swim.]

Really? Well, if you want me to take it off your hands...

[Yeah, because everyone goes swimming in their clothes. It's all the rage in Nippon. But Miyabi's smirking and holding out the tightly bundled up mallet, who is wriggling and squirming inside its confines.]

I don't think you could handle it, but here. I do need a place to keep it, after all... Just don't let it get free and hit you, Sokka, or you'll end up my real size.

[Sokka is about to take it until that last statement. He reeeeeeeeeeally likes being this size. He quietly stares at the bag, until at last he manages:]

... what?

[Miyabi snorts, some of her irritation fading away, and begins to careful unwrap the bundle. At this point, she's not even worried about getting wet paint on herself. She's done it plenty of times before, and her dress needs to be washed anyway.

Holding up the small, white, shining mallet, who seems to still be fighting to get free of her steely grip.]

This is the Lucky Mallet, the thing that makes me big and small. It always runs off whenever it hits me, but I managed to catch it this time. I just need to find a safe place to keep it now.

[Sokka looks warily at the mallet. He so, so does not want to end up less than inch tall. That would be some scary shit.]

Maybe you should just bury it. Forever.

[Don't worry Sokka, she's got an iron-clad grip on that thing and even if it did get away, it wouldn't go far before she stunned it with another Cherry Bomb or Powerslash.]

Hehe...I've been considering that after it ruined my best portrait to date. Maybe I will do just that! I'll leave it in the forest to rot.

[The mallet wriggles even more at the villainous smirk that spreads on the girl's lips, but Miyabi's quick to wrap it up again. She's just kidding, of course, but she was still pretty mad that her work got destroyed.]

You don't know anywhere I could keep it?

[Miyabi is kind of scary when she's plotting evil things to do to sentient mallets. Hummm...]

You know, we have plenty of chains at the smithy. You could use that to hold... it, in one place.

[She has her moments of pure sadism just like everyone else, what are you talking about?]

But that seems a little cruel... I don't want to trap it, just keep it safe and from ruining my art again.

[Some people are just less obvious! And take it out on delicious meat-filled animals.]

How is it that worse than putting it in a cage?

I never said I wanted to put it in a cage either! I just wanna keep it safe somewhere for when I need it so it won't hunt me down and ruin my paintings again or shrink anyone else!! If it could fit in my house, I'd keep it there, in my room, but the Mallet can't shrink itself.

Oh. Well... [He considers this. Where would be a good place to put a dangerous magical- OH!]

You could put it in the tunnels! One of those spare rooms.

Tunnels? Where are those? [Obviously under the ground, but she doesn't exactly frequent the tunnels, so she's happily unaware of their existence, for the most part.] No one goes down there a lot though, do they?

[He points off towards the plaza.

The entrance is over there. A lot of people don't go down there because it blocks them from using their magic, powers, or whatever. [Sokka has no such worries, so he actually likes them.]

[She glances off in the general direction of the plaza, nodding. Huh, she'd have to check out the tunnels then, and even without her Brush Skills, she was rather impressive with wielding her sword.]

Oh! Do you think the mallet's powers would be blocked then, too? If so, that'd be the perfect place to keep it! It wouldn't be able to cause any trouble at all, and it'd be out of the way, too!!
