[Today, Miyabi had finally made the trip she wanted to make to the ocean to see it for the first time. She had sized herself up for the quick journey via the teleporters (the one Asch and Luke broke should be fixed by now. 8|) but made the journey alone. It wasn't just to enjoy the scenery this time, even if it was beautiful, but to sit and think.

[Ammy had been busy roaming the village, checking out the people and seeing if they need any help, when the gull swooped in close to her. She stopped in her tracks and stared up at it, ignoring the urge to jump up and give it a nip. She had a feeling that it had a message for her.

Sure enough, once it landed in front of her, it told her Miyabi's message. The wolf nodded, then turned and ran out towards the ocean. She sure hoped this company didn't want to swim. Ammy has had bad memories of dealings with the ocean.

Thankfully, Ammy has been here and has explored enough to know that there's a teleporter, otherwise it'd take her quite a while to get there. With how fast she already is, it only takes a few minutes for her to step out of the fort at the beach and look down the sandy shore. Is her company nearby?]

[Indeed that company is near by! Miyabi's laying in the shade of a tree, far from the swell of the ocean. It's a lot cooler there than in the blistering sun, after all. The poncle isn't built for such temperatures, more accustomed to the frigid temperatures of the frozen north than heat like this.

She has her eyes closed, so Miyabi doesn't see the wolf come close at all. All she seemed to want to do was sleep, or relax in the sun and forget about everything else.]

[Oh, what. She came all the way here and the person who's asking for her is asleep?

Ammy walks on over to her, though she hurries her steps since the sand is hot and the traction is poor against against her paws. Once she reaches her, she gives her a good stare for a moment.

Now. Should she poke her or headbutt her.]

[You better not headbutt her unless you want to get wet, mutt. B|

Thankfully, though, neither will have to happen. Miyabi can sense something close to her after a while, and she opens her eyes, rubbing the exhaustion out of them. She hummed when she saw her goddess face, and reached up to stroke her head affectionately and with a bit of thanks.]

[Oh good, she woke up. Ammy lets out a small whining noise, of greeting and contentment, and sits by Miyabi's side. Thankfully, the shade makes the sand cooler, unlike the stupid hot sand out there.

She makes sure she's sitting close, and she looks out towards the ocean. You know, if it weren't for all those bad experiences in the ocean, she might like it a little.]

[Miyabi lifts herself up a little bit, only to wrap her arms around Ammy's neck and hug her. She hadn't seen her goddess nearly enough tofit her needs, or hang out with her like this. Plus, she was just feeling awful lately. This entire month sucked, and it was taking its toll on the girl. Miyabi's worst fear was people leaving her, and it just...kept happening. She was at her breaking point.

So, she held on to Ammy, and tried to keep her voice steady as she spoke into her fur.]

You know, I haven't forgiven you for leaving before...

[Instead of turning to comfort the girl, Ammy keeps her gaze on the ocean. It was... foolish, to not forgive her for leaving. It's not like Ammy could control what the Malnosso did to her. Not only that, but she was well on her way to the Celestial Plain before she came here.

That would mean she'd never walk the world of Nippon again. Only watch it from afar, and maybe send a part of herself to guard it, should the need arise. Other than that... her duties lie in the Celestial Plain now.

So, she only lets out a huff of a breath.]

[The huff is enough to understand. Miyabi had known Ammy long enough to understand even the tiniest sounds she made. Even if she didn't understand the complete message behind them most of the time, she could usually get the gist of what the wolf wanted to get across.

She seemed...upset. Heh, of course she would be.]

I'm selfish, aren't I? ...I'm sorry, but I just...I don't want anyone else to leave. I hate it! And I hate how easily it can happen! I don't want anyone else to forget me, Ammy. It...it hurts.. I was so afraid you wouldn't remember me, either, when you came back.

[Despite how cross this makes her, Ammy can understand it. The emotion is very human. Ammy might not really understand human emotions all that much, but it's something they can't help, either. Ammy can't quite get a grasp of it herself.

After all, many, many people have forgotten her, and she's fine with this.

But she's a goddess, not a human. She doesn't need emotional assurance. So, with a sigh, she turns her head to rest her chin on top of Miya's head. Understand it she might not, but she's still a motherly goddess, and she can tell when others need her support, or need time to themselves to be emotional. Like that old bamboo man...]

[Mrf, that gesture feels like she just got punished and comforted at the same time. Miyabi doesn't know what to make of it, but it feels...somehow very familiar. She curls closer to the wolf and rubs her face into her fur. She just..didn't know what else to do. It seemed like left and right people she knew were getting hurt, leaving, forgetting her, or dying. It was too much, and she was reaching a breaking point.

But this helped. Having Ammy here, who was so very special and important to her, helped. But even so...]

I'm...afraid. [She bit her lip. It was hard to admit that.] What if everyone I know leaves? Or...or if they don't ever remember me? I'm scared of that! I...

[Before Miyabi can continue on, Ammy moves her head off of its perch, ducks beneath Miyabi's chin, and fixes her gaze on the girl's heart.

No, she is not gazing upon Miyabi's fine, yet small boobs.

It's hard for her to communicate this, but she wants Miyabi to know that even if people forget you, that memory stays with them. It might be locked away, deep in their heart, in their mind... but it's there, somewhere. A place like this can't allow people to interact and have such remarkable relationships without leaving an impact on those same people.

And if that memory is too far out of reach...

Ammy draws a line from the dirt, sprouting forth. Amazingly, a flower grows even here, where there was once a desert.

New memories can lead to a new beginning.]

[That's better. Ammy remains a strong source of support while Miyabi leans against her, and she can tell that her silent words have gone through to her. It's why it's nice to have a devout follower - they try extra hard to figure out what you're trying to say.

The thanks in her own native language makes her nod slowly. It's nice to hear that language again, even though all languages are understood here in this world. It's incredible how everyone can be brought together that way...

She can't help scrunching her face a little as she gazes at the sea, though. Child, why, oh why did you choose the ocean to contemplate beside? HAVE YOU HEARD THE STORY WHERE SHE NEARLY GOT EATEN BY A SEA DRAGON? ... AND THEN ACTUALLY GOT EATEN?]

[Sorry, but Miyabi must have missed those stories along the way somewhere. Because she mistakes Ammy's gazing out at the ocean as wanting to go into the water. Or at least appreciating the beauty of it. She strokes over Ammy's head with a smile, fluttering her wings a little.]

It's beautiful, isn't it? The oceans in Kamui aren't anything like this... You want to go in, don't you? It's nice and cool on a hot day like today. We can go in together!
