How do you get your dogs to stop barking? and how do you insure that they aren't barking when you aren't at home? My boyfriend and I are getting a place, but the barking is going to make it hard. One person suggested debarking, but that seems cruel.

Recently, Tico has been barking in the middle of the night at what appears to be nothing. I wake up, walk around, go outside with him... nothing.
