Random weekend update

So the weekend came and went in a flash and I still haven't finished working on my manuscript. Grrr....

The 18-mile run didn't feel so bad and we kept a pretty good pace at least for the first 7-8 miles until I crashed towards the end. I suspect it's dehydration. I had 50 oz. of liquids throughout the run and I didn't even erm...pee...then I had such bad Charlie horse after the run that my calf still hurts from it two days later. As a result, I've to do a gym workout instead of a run today. Feeling really bumped out. Grrr.....

Note to self - hydrate with drinks with electrolytes the day before and the morning before long runs like these.

Anyways, Saturday itself was glorious. IT was a girls' day out beginning with grape picking, a trip to the farmers' market in Durham, a trip to the mall to gaga over skincare and make up stuff at Sephora, stocking up on gels for runs, and then indulging in a nice Korean lunch. No wonder I feel so spent today. Now where did the weekend go??!?!!!!  :((


Are those grapes or olives???? FYI, they are not very yummy.


Beignets from Rue Cler  - oily chewy fried dough, how wrong can it go?



Sustenance for long runs - Pure sugar rush in the form of  gels, sports beans, bloks, and sharkies...Really, I really don't crave sweet things after a long run after ingesting all that sugar along the way.
