I find myself glued to the screen every time Biden speaks. I don’t even care what he is saying, it is just refreshing to see someone speak in a calm rational manner using real words. I know we have a lot of work ahead to fix the great division in this country, but this is a huge start.
Isn't it weird that we have to be relieved and grateful that the future president speaks in a calm, rational manner using real words? But it's so true -- I'm relieved and grateful, too!
One of the classes I was teaching in autumn of 2016 was a public speaking and rhetoric course. When I had my 18-year-old students analyze the GOP and Democratic convention speeches, they uniformly talked about how Drumpf pitched his vocabulary and sentence structure to second graders, and was that on accident or was that an ingenious strategy?
It didn’t take long for them to realize that it was just the level of Drumpf’s intelligence. When he won, one of my students said, “I feel like this is a loss for Clinton AND the English language.”

Nothing like a college student to tell you that the emperor has no clothes. :-)
