Restarting LJ - Summer in NY

May 12, 2007 08:29

Hey, all!

So, I haven't used this bugger in over a year, but I figured "what the heck", might as well start using it to chronicle my escapades this summer. For those who do not know, I am interning with OUTfront and Amnesty International in New York City starting this week. I'm also taking classes at NYU and staying in one of their residence halls.

My plane leaves in two and a half hours; I'm majorly excited... except I found out at 2am last night that my NYU course for the first half of summer has been canceled... and there's nothing I can do until Monday (the first day of classes). I'm kinda cursing the summer gods for this one... I thought I had everything laid out.

Positives, though: my living conditions should be amazing, tons of my fraternity brothers are gonna be there (supposedly... I messaged one with no response...), and my internship seriously sounds incredibly cool... it's tough answering questions about it, though, 'cause a) no, I don't know EXACTLY what I'm doing, and b) it's a bunch of LGBT stuff, so most of the fam wouldn't want to or need to know.

So, yeah, freaking out about my classes... it screws up my internship work schedule, too, which I feel horrible about... I was supposed to train this Wednesday, and now it seems like I can't... all I want to say is "fuck you, NYU". They canceled transgender studies with only 5 students in it, but seriously, a small class would've been cool... and they COULD'VE told us before the last business before classes!!
