what a reLIEF!
I. am. so. RELIEVED!
Ok so after applying to about a hundred districts and various piddly jobs, even after driving to Detroit and Grand Rapids for interviews, I got a JOB! A job in the school that's closer to my house than any other school. I work during the school day, Monday through Friday, so that's 7:30 to 3:oo. It's a parapro position, which means I'm not an official "teacher", more like a supplemental reading and math teacher. I get to work with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, which should be pretty hilarious, and they're gonna pay me an ok hourly rate. Any day the kids get off, I get off. Awesome! That means I get Thanksgiving and Christmas and Spring breaks. YES
I'm also pretty excited to work for Portage Public Schools, since they're a really good district, so I'll get GOOD experience rather than just experience. Plus, when I leave for eastern Michigan this summer, I'll have some good references! Hopefully I can teach summer school in a district by Southfield or Royal Oak and network a bit with those people so I can have my own classroom next fall--or at least another parapro position! :)
God just never gives me a bad reason to trust in Him. :) He really worked this one out good. It feels pretty good to have interviewed for a job that a bunch of other people interviewed for too. And it feels good to be the one chosen for that job. I'm just glad that God made it happen! There were a couple back-up options, but I'm fairly sure this one fits the best with what I plan to do later on.
