After a busy and stressful two weeks of classes, that amazing holiday known as Labor Day rolled around. So instead of staying home and catching up on homework and finishing the organization of my bedroom, I decided to go to North Carolina and visit Carl.
After about 2 and a half hours of sleep, I got up at 3am and got ready. I was on the road by 3:40 and drove to Nashville to catch my 6:45 flight. While driving through LBL, I saw 13 deer! I ended up taking FOREVER to get to the airport. Finally, I got to the airport at around 5:30, after some heavy speeding on I-24. I rode a bus for about 5 minutes, I was in the check-in line for about 30 minutes and in security for another 15. Once I got my stuff through security, I began to RUN LIKE HELL! When I finally got to my terminal, I discovered that everyone else was already on the plane. I was one of the last people to board the plane. Scary stuff. The flight was ok. The landing was pretty harsh. I still hate flying.
Seeing Carl was amazing. I miss not having him around. We grabbed some brunch and opened a joint savings account. One step closer to a wedding! Over the weekend, there were lots of naps and nice meals and drinking and hanging out with Lance and Lesley-Ann. I did some shopping. I was in serious need of some new pants and some nice teaching shirts. Carl bought a new futon and I put it together. I got to hang out with Tymora. Over all it was an awesome weekend.
But it came to an end and I had to go home. So I didn't want to risk missing my flight and went to the airport early. Well I didn't have to worry about that. There was no line for tickets or security. I ended up sitting around for a while. The flight home was aweful. It was bumpy and scary. But as you can see, I am home safe.
After some troubles getting out of the parking lot, I got on the road and sped like hell to get home. I didn't get out of the airport lot until 6:30 and I had practice at 8. And since I had to stop and get gas, I was extra late. I got there around 8:20. But that is ok. Fannin already knew I was going to be late. And unlucky me, they had been setting drill and my drill is fucked up. I seem to jump in and out of the forms. Very crazy.
Now I am going to try and stay awake. After work, I am going home for a nap before practice. And right now I have to do homework. I think it is so funny. During the summer, I love school and wish it would start again. Now that it has, I hate school.
