Best thing about becoming a homeowner (in exactly 8-days) is daydreaming about stylizing and decorating my sweet townhouse.

I have been inspired by my Great-Grandmother's bedroom set that I have inherited. It looks similar to this, but imagine beautiful wood inlay on the fronts of all the drawers and round handles. I do not have the 4-drawer tall dresser, but I do have a large  wardrobe, and my vanity chair does not have a back like this one does. What I love about this bedroom set is the beautiful rounded features, and the painstaking hand-craftsmanship.

This is a truly a unique and one-of a kind style.  I hope to do it justice by incorporating lovely, time-period appropriate pieces. I have fallen in love with this Art Deco style and Art Nouveau inspired pieces and hope to adopt this in various forms in my new living space. I would love to acquire pieces that are within the same color scheme as this blond wood, such as this piece. Notice the wood inlay on the cabinet doors, it is nearly identical to the inlay in my furniture pieces.

But I also like the asian inspired designs that were seen in this era, especially in bamboo. I have an antique bed-side table similar to this piece, and a corner shelf in the bamboo design as well.  As a whole, the bamboo and the bedroom set look amazing together.

I probably do not need any more furniture pieces, but I am interested in finding a swanky chair or chaise lounge. A matching salon suite would be brilliant, and  with a little table! How cute!

I'm digging this stuff here, in the sage fabric covering, but I'm not sure that a darker wood is going to work.

I need to be more daring, and to do that I should probably score this sexy number...  Le Sigh, if only I had hundred of thousands of dollars to splurge on antique collectibles.

For now I'd like to add easy details to pull off the look, such as finding an Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts inspired rug.  Theses are quite appealing, and easy on the bank account. They also come in various sizes. I'd go all the way and fill a room with one large rug. All of these are exquisite!

Lighting will be a very important and easy way to add to the decor of my room. I do not have recessed lighting, therefore lamp selection is KEY. Lucky for me, my mom has a Tiffany inspired leaded lamp, which will be PERFECT on the night stand. It would be amazing to score a REAL one, but on my budget I'll take a knock-off anytime.

I can also score the look for less if I select appropriate prints and lithographs which are an easy find on the internet. My favorites so far include these...

Can you tell I've been doing my "homework"?

I want feedback and ideas, so let me know what you think!
