This passage came from something i was reading for english. Although the reading is about responding to literature and this doesnt seem to have much to do with that, I still found it interesting...
"We are individuals, with unique experiences and visions. We also are related to each other, by birth or circumstance, by interest or accident, by love or antagonism. At the same time that we are attempting to make our essential, individual contributions, we also are attempting to help others understand and relate to us. We want to be individuals but not suffer isolation. We want to belong but don't want to disappear into a crowd."
