Holy CRAP what an awsome weekend! I'll have to do a time line so i don't miss anything...
Fri July 2nd:
8am: So we get to the drill hall, and everyone gets ready to leave, i'm super excited right about now, cuz i'm seeing the bus, and realizing that i am going away for a weekend, be it, in the middle of nowhere, with cowboys, but the thing was that i wasn't going to be near my parents or anyone who could really upset me, which caused uncontrolable happiness.
9am-5pm: A super long ass bus ride, cuz our STUPID driver refused to do anything but 60 on the highway, seriously, truckers were passing us, even other tour buses from the same comp, were passing us. I wanted Danny there so bad *Contiki tour driver* i think he did like 80 on hairpin turns down/up hill in scotland and ireland... not to mention the normal 120 on the highway... But Debbie, our driver, was soooo sloooooow... we stoped in Hope for a coffee and walk, and then in Cashe creek for icecream...
5pm-6pm: We check into our rooms, noooooot the 4 seasons, but not to shabby... a few sketchy moments though... I get changed and put on some makeup and we head down to the RODEO!!! It was soooooo cool... now, i'm somewhat against rodeos, or atleast i was, when you think of a 2 year old calf getting jumped on, and having its head twisted till he falls down, when he then has his feet roped, it doesn't sound to pleasent... but in all honesty i was talking to a cowboy *will mention later* and he said those calfs usually work *preform in* one or two rodeos, and then they are released, and for the bulls and horses, they usually work 15 mins out of their life, and have a pretty good life outside of the rodeo, cuz of their high value. So the rodeo was super exciting, and fun... after that we went on a few rides, and RAN to saveon to get some food and stuff for my feet... cuz the army boots rip them to pieces. After that, we pretty much chill out, and call it an early night... considering the following:
Saturday July 3rd
6am: Ummmm yeah, so wake up. Bleh, see why we called it a night at 1am?
7am-8am: : We made our way across the street to preform at Save on foods for a free breakie... now they don't believe in doing any meal small, we're talking hashbrowns, pancakes, bacon, eggs, coffee, milk, juice, anything that could be considered a breakie food was there.
9am-11:30am: We go in the parade, clean house with the awards, winning both "Best entry" *like best in show* and "Best Band" So we got all the awards we could possibly want, which was awsome... The parade was super long, and we followed horses, and i swear the one who crapped the most walked directly in front of me, and cuz i was leading my row *bass always in front* it was my job to dodge it, stay in step, and keep playing... yeah that was amusing.
12:30pm: We make it to the local leigon where we play for food again, which to me is amusing.... but the lunch was amazing and they had an open bar, which means Paige got booze for lunch! Yaya!
2:00pm: We make our way down to the Street party, play some more, and yeah thats that...
3:00-5:00pm: We get to go back to the hotel and relax for a bit... aka sleep.
5:00pm: We make our way to the steak place where we got an awsome dinner, steak, beans, a salad, buns, etc... and played again... at this time, we wern't told to wear our jackets, and were in our summer uniforms *shirts* and the girls shirts are especially see-through, so when the storm rains came, i thought of the idea "best wet army uniform competition" that got shut down, but i think i woulda won, hands down.
6:30pm-7:30pm: We have a concert in the park... yay fun times.
Now the fun begins.... 8:00pm-the early morning of SUN:
We head back, and kimmy and danielle are nowhere to be found... which i wasn't really worried about, cuz right about then their immaturity and overall annoyingness was getting to me... so Aleta *my cousin* and a few others, aka Duncan *drool* who's married to Colleen, Sara, Adam *drool again* and Evan... all head out for "a night to remember" So we hit up a local coffee place for coffee and dinner, and then we head down to this bar actually saloon, now i said that if i got carded, all i wanted was duncan to walk me back to the hotel and i'd chill out there, cuz i didn't want anyones night to be ruined, so as it turns out, i walk right in, which was awsome... NOW these guys had a mechanical BULL. So we played a game of pool, and i went over and signed the release form, along with aleta, to ride the bull. I was standing in line *about a 20 min wait, cuz there wasn't really a line, more of a gathering of ppl waiting in no particular order* and this cowboy comes over, and by this point i'm getting QUITE nervous not afraid of the bull, but more of the entire band, who who had showed up at this bar. So this cowboy shows up and introduces himself as Johnny... hehehehe... this is possibly the hottest guy i've ever met in my life, and so i introduce myself... and he asks if i was riding the bull, i said yes... and hes like, "i wont, i'm afraid of it... " i'm assuming he protecting some jewels so i just laugh it off... we're talking a bit more, and i find out hes from alberta... etc... so my turn comes up... that was alota fun... i made the 8 seconds the first time *he was giving everyone about 3-4 falls* and then the second time he wouldn't let me get back on, so i was half on, and this thing was bucking... the third time i reached back with my free hand, and thats apparently against the rules, so i had to put a blindfold on... ok, so i fall off again, and the 4th time, hes like ok one last fair ride... so we're going, and i touch back again... so he stops it and throws a ice cube at me, and he misses, and he throws a second, i catch it, and whip it back at him... he knew it was a joke, but he dicided to turn it on full blast, obviously i didnt last to long, and called it after that... so i get off, and johnny is there... he congradulates me, and mentions that i was one of the best first timers hes ever seen, and throwing the ice cube back makes me one of the coolest "cowgirls" he knows. So a little more flirting, and then the girls rip me away to go dance... after about a half hour this little lady comes up, and asks me how Johnathon was... I was a little taken aback, but after talking to her, she was a big fan of this dude, who turns out to be the leading bull rider in the country. Yes, the one who's afraid to ride it is #1 in Canada. So we dance a little more, and i go to take a drink, and johnny shows up, and before i could say anything, he grabs me and pulls me onto the dance floor, which was awsome, no bumpin and grinding, good old dancing, spinning and fun times. So after dancing, and regaining my breath, i asked him why he was afraid to ride the bull, when hes the #1 bull rider in all of Canada... he smiles, "I thought you knew who i was, and realized i was kidding... but now that i know you didn't i find you that much sweeter...." and he goes on like that basically rodeos have rodeo groupies, and he was afraid that i was one, and he didn't relize that i had absolutely no idea who he was.... which apparently he found a major turn on, cuz before i knew it, we were riding the bull, together. That was fun... oh lordy you shoulda heard the bar... so after that we head home, mostly everyone from the band had gone back, and i asked if he would walk me back *honestly no naughty intentions, its just they have alota drunk natives running around, and i don't really care for really drunk people* So we get to a corner, and he grabs me and kisses me... i didn't laugh! I was so suprised! But i certainly smiled... so the stampede grounds were across the street from our hotel, and he asked if i wanted to come in for a drink... right here is that do or die moment. So i did. :D He has this totally kick ass place, actually an RV that has all his rodeo stuff, and so we sit down at the table, and we have a beer.... hehehehe its more of a corner table sort of deal, and we moved closer and closer until we were sitting next to each other... things started, and holy crapping mofos... I've never had so much fun in my life. Ever. It was unbelievable, I can think back, and get a huge smile on my face... words cannot explain some of the stuff he did. But... yeah... wow. Thats all i could say was wow. So that was my cowboy experience... Now i can't walk, and i can't figure out if its the bull riding expereince or the cowboy riding experience... or maybe both.... next time i might skip the bull... hehehe... so basically i can't walk, its sore to sit or move in a ladylike manner... and i found a few bruises that i'm not sure how they got there.... But overall happiness was achieved, several times. :P Sooooo... basically the ride home was uneventful, and when alls said and done... after my last few posts, and especially my last one... this weekend was EXACTLY what i needed... i had happiness, and i honestly felt worth something... might sound stupid, but i did, and yeah... Fun times pretty much sums it up.
