lemur_catta and I stopped by Volo last night for $5 pint night. There were some excellent beers on offer. Catch them if you can!
Black Oak Nutcracker Porter - all round superb, dark, complex, spicy beer.
Amsterdam Black Friday IPA - dark IPAs seem to be the current "thing" in Ontario. Think a porter style ale with a heavy whack of Cascade hops.
Flying Monkeys Netherworld Dark IPA - Similar to but even better than the Amsterdam.
Amsterdam Framboise - great raspberry notes but not very beery. Could have done to have more sour Lambic character.
Taps Belgian IPA - very nice! This is a Belgian doppel style hit up with a bunch of Cascade hops so it combines the heft (7.5% ABV) and spiciness of a Belgian ale with the floral notes of a west coast style IPA.
