I got a job!
Teaching in Middle School---> Spanish AND ESL (maybe). I get to teach Spanish 1a 1b and 2! Hooray!
It is great. This week was new teacher orientation.
We did lots of things one of which included a bus tour of the city so we could see where the students come from. I thought this was really unique...not many school divisions do that.
Yesterday we did OSHA training to learn about blood born pathogens *dun dun dun* and stuff, some of which I already knew from FIRST AID and CPR training that I took for girl scouts.
Also, I signed up for VEA today and won a $25 gift card to Kroger. I'm gonna save it for a rainy day.
My 'supervisor' person is great, very helpful. My principal too. I am getting a mentor person who I'm sure will be just as helpful.
I have so many things to plan that I don't even know where to start and it's kinda overwhelming. Like I have to make a syllabus-or so I've been told. And a grading policy and a homework policy and class rules and consequences and seating arrangements and makeup work policy and....I don't remember what else but I know there is more. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have decided that I am charging students a dime for a pencil and a nickel for a sheet of paper. Also that I am going to use one of their shoes for colateral if they need a book---if I'm allowed that is.
I'm going to tell the people at Captain D's that I can only work Saturdays from now on, with maybe a few hours Sunday. I don't have time to think. IT HURTS MY BRAIN.
Well I'm going to bed now and going to try to get up early tomorrow and start my planning before my girl scout meeting. I hope I don't need to plan something for that too. If I do-I'm SOL.
