Hiked to Burnt Lake with some friends/co-workers on Saturday. Some serious good times were had. Our friend Anson, an avid outdoorsman, organized everything. He rocks!
The water probably got deeper towards the center of the lake, but the dogs stayed towards shore. It looked tempting, but there were crayfish in the water and I didn't feel like getting pinched.
I reside in the Pacific Northwest, which is pretty lush. Southern California and the other SW states are where you'll find the desert-like climates.
Sounds like it was fun, and the area looks amazing from that photo even if it is from a cell phone.
I can totally relate to you about the not in shape thing- when I was walking the streets of Philadelphia with Chris a couple of weeks ago I thought I was going to die, lol. I hadn't done any serious walking for almost two years and I could definitely feel it in my body. Of course it was worth it because I was hanging out with Chris and got to see Philly (which I don't visit at all really) but I seriously have to do something about that...
I know what you're saying. I've gained about 15 lbs. in the last year, and you can only blame BC for so long. >_> I'll get my ass in gear soon enough, though. Despite my knee issues after the hike, it really made me want to get out there again.
