Hiked to
Burnt Lake with some friends/co-workers on Saturday. Some serious good times were had. Our friend Anson, an avid outdoorsman, organized everything. He rocks!
This picture, taken with my BlackBerry which probably has a fingerprint right on the lens from handling, doesn't even come close to doing this place justice.
It was a killer -- about three miles either way, with some elevation I was definitely not prepared to handle, being extremely out of shape. I was hurting something fierce by the time we finished, but the views, on the way up and especially at our destination, were so spectacular they easily made the effort worthwhile.
After the hike, the plan was to clean up at home and then head back to Anson's for what was originally going to be lunch, but we were behind schedule and it turned into dinner. Chris and I were so ravenous that we stopped at the nearest DQ (yeaaah!) and ordered a cheeseburger and fries each to tide us over. Dinner ended up being pork tenderloin sandwiches. (SO MUCH WIN.) I also got to borrow a whole bunch of Anson's music. Hell yes!
My knees are still sore. I hope I didn't screw them up permanently. D:
