Love and Love Lost
Before I start playing by my new "guidelines", I need to catch up the Gates and Wells families. The other families were played through Week 4, so I'm going to play the last two families according to the old rules so that they're all on the same page when I switch to the new gameplay. You can check the family page for more info on the Gates family since it's been awhile!
Celia Gates (by beatdoc16 ) is still living with her boyfriend of 6 years. On the surface, they have the perfect life. They eat breakfast together every morning before Celia heads off to the bakery and before Clay gets to work on his latest novel. They discuss ordinary things like finances and future plans. And Celia thinks in moments like these that she really does like Clay and their life together.
And they still have romantic wants for each other. They're Romance sims after all (Clay has romance as his secondary aspiration, Celia is primary romance), and when they're home together they are all over each other.
And let's not forget the son that they share. Honestly, Sam is the glue that has held them together for this long. They stay together for his sake more than anything else.
So Clay stays at home during the days, while Celia works at her bakery. He is a writer and has already had one novel become a best-seller. He's working on his second novel currently, in addition to taking care of Sam. He is a family sim (his primary aspiration) at heart, so he really does enjoy being a stay-at-home dad/budding writer.
Sam has his childhood birthday and ages up well. This was the last picture I took 8 months ago when I last played this town. Somewhere in the last 8 months I got a new computer monitor which is a widescreen. So you will see a change in the picture size from here on out! Just a heads up/explanation!
Sam is a rambunctious little guy who loves to jump on beds and jump rope. Very early on, he found out that his favorite hobby is fitness, so he spends A LOT of time jumping rope and playing catch with his dad. He also has started to study physiology so that he can learn everything he can about fitness.
Even though their life is idyllic and comfortable, Celia has begun to get bored. She needs fun and excitement in her life...and MEN! So she has started to frequent the Zebra Room downtown. She has one goal in mind, and that is to kiss a man...any man will do. She immediately sees Harvey Dingle, the owner of the club, and swoons over him. Apparently Celia likes evil warlock types. That doesn't surprise me!
Harvey was busy at work, and so he doesn't have time for her. So Celia sets her sights on other men. And she finds 3 that will do. She hangs out with one of them for the rest of the night, and gets phone numbers from the other two. Then she invites them over the next day. Clay almost catches her with one of the club guys, but he seems not to notice.
Clay used to roll marriage wants for Celia all the time when they first met, but I think over the years he has finally seen that Celia is not the marriage type and so he has finally given up. He did not roll a single marriage want for all 7 days of week 4. In fact he rolled wants to makeout and woohoo with other sims, so I think Clay probably just doesn't care about Celia's infidelities anymore. He loves Celia still, but he's sticking around for Sam, not for a hope of any future with Celia. And surprisingly, he's okay with that.
An awful thunderstorm struck the sleepy town of Little Hollywick one night, and a massive fire started on the Gates' property after lightning struck a tree. The fire threatened the house and the Gates family feared for their lives! (Ok not really, but it was the biggest tree fire I've ever seen...and it fits in with what happened next!)
The fear from the fire that threatened her family must have kicked some sense into Celia, because immediately after the fire she started rolling wants solely for Clay. And vice versa. Maybe they both realized just how much they have and also how much they have to lose. There have been no marriage wants yet, but there is more romance in that house between Celia and Clay than I have ever seen! And that's really saying something when we're talking about a sim like Celia. Maybe there's still hope for them!
