LHPD: A Lot Tour

Mar 30, 2011 21:39

Since I brought up the topic of career buildings recently, I figured I ought to show you one that I've been working on. This is the Little Hollywick Police Department where all sims in the Law Enforcement and Intelligence career tracks will work. Also, sims in the Law career track will also stop in every once in awhile to converse with their incarcerated clients or to assist with an investigation if said lawyer is a prosecutor. You'll see Clay Peshterianu and Sawyer Lightfoot using this building in the next update.

The exterior of the building. I made the sign myself, can't you tell?! Lol, I couldn't find a sign out there that I wanted so I made one. It's not great, but it gets the point across. It says "Little Hollywick Police Department" in Simlish, by the way.

In such a small town you wouldn't think the police department needs to be as secure as it is. But this is the entrance/waiting area. Bullet-proof glass separates the in-take officers from the public. A photo I.D. is required to get past the waiting area.

The other side of the glass, this is where the in-take officers work. They check visitors in, process bail payments, and generally guard the front area. The double door in this area leads to the parking lot and only staff can open it.

Another door in the in-take office leads to this room. It is the processing room and contains a holding cell for prisoners waiting to be processed. This is where a person gets put into the system when they get arrested. Their picture is taken, personal info entered in the computer, and they get changed into their new prison clothes. The elevator leads up to the jail and the door on the left leads to the officer's office. There's also another door in this room that leads to a stark hallway which takes you into the Intelligence quarters.

There is also an interrogation room through this area, but I forgot to take pictures of it. Darnit!

This is the area where sims in the Law Enforcement track work, although they also work throughout the rest of the building as well (as in-take officers, processors, or correctional officers). The door leads into the Captain's office (Captain Hero, that is). The desks look empty right now, but they will fill up when sims start to work here. Sawyer Lightfoot will most likely be the first one to fill up a desk.

Inside the Captain's Office. This room will also become more decorated once a sim takes it over.

This is the Intelligence career track side of the building. I told you it was a stark hallway! But at least they have a plant! It's the only plant in the entire building at the moment, although I'm sure some of the sims that will eventually work here will bring some for their desks. I can't build a lot without using plants! You should see my real life house. I have plants everywhere.

A couple of Intelligence offices. I kind of envisioned Men-In-Black decor for this career track.

Once you go up the elevator, you are greeted by yet another security checkpoint. Another officer checks your I.D. and controls the door locks in this part of the building. Visitors go through the glass door behind the desk and new inmates are escorted through the black double doors into the cell block.

Here is the visitation room. No conjugal visits at the LHPD! Visits are held over the phone and through the glass.

And here we have the cell block. There are 4 cells which can hold a total of 8 prisoners. I wanted to add an outdoor recreation yard, but there just wasn't room for it. I'm debating on whether or not to add it on the roof of the jail part of the building. If so, I need to find some tall fencing with barbed wire!

Hope you enjoyed this tour. You'll be seeing this building in action real soon!
