the new gap commercial is irresistably cute.

I rocked the weekend despite widespread doubts.  I may be dumb but I work damn hard.  :)  Yesterday and today all by myself.  Take that, suckers!

I love my high school kids.  Went to columbia yesterday to visit them.  Also, yesterday the Nazi s marched in columbia.  yeah, you wouldn't think that sentence would be uttered, but its the truth.  Scary stuff.  May have been tame by my friend's "i was there for the french riots" standards, but pretty crazy overall.  Crazy to see all of the different forms of protest.  Peace signs pressed up against a window, running around in a pumpkin suit with tights, the red faces of those who got maced, the guy dressed as hitler in a skirt...  It was pretty awful being around for all of it with the swat teams and all of the police officers.  awful.  We did end up going to the peace rally afterwards which was cool.  We painted tortillas with messages of peace.  We planted marigolds.  We saw some kid in neon green chucks rock the bass.  We saw some crazy frat/sorority "you got served" step performance thing.  It was a nicer, happier place to be.  A good place to end the day.  Or well, went back to Cathy's to end the trip up there.  Got Rhi's cd she made ages ago.  Its amazing.  It brought me to tears.  I loved it.

Also, my hs girls recycle and are all about their organic food.  women after my own heart.  :)

My friends have been fabulously supportive lately with my working and tiredness and such.  Yay for them.

Mom was funny today.  The conversation went kind of like this:
M:  what was that concert that you all went to last week?
me:  what?
M:  you and kyle went to some concert.  Was it last week?  maybe you went last weekend?
me:  I haven't been to a concert in ages.  ::goes through mind::  Lets see, saturday I volunteered.  Friday, Kyle and I went and saw the dead sea scrolls...
m:  that was it!
me:  ma, that was the actual dead sea scrolls.
m:  You made it sound like you had so much fun...
