Can anyone recommend a groomer who will clip a dog's claws in a room/alcove away from other clients? Hoping for referrals in the Rogers Park/Edgewater/Evanston/Wilmette/Skokie areas.
I have a shelter dog who is reactive to other dogs, but OK with humans. I currently take him to my vet's clinic for claw trims so the tech can do the work away from other dogs, but this is very expensive. I asked at the Evanston Petsmart but they said they only work in the open room with multiple grooming stations. I've seen several storefront grooming businesses but would prefer a referral for someone who has the appropriate firm-but-gentle approach with animals rather than randomly take a chance on an unknown. Thanks!

Yes, he's being trained out of the reactivity but still a long way to go. No, I definitely don't want to do it myself; I've done it a few times, I'm not good at it and it's better for the dog, trust me!
