Status update:

Not much going on here. We lost a window to Sandy, but that's been it; not even a power outages.

Looks like they're getting it worse further north, so sending good thoughts that way!

Well, Hurricane Sandy is on her way; we've started getting rain and wind, though nothing too heavy yet.

Fingers crossed she'll just skim past us with little drama...

Made my first batch of fudge of the season! Now it really feels like fall.

(It's peanut butter fudge, and it's delicious.)

(Now the weather just needs to settle into being properly cold... I'd even take consistently cool... )

So after waiting the hurricane out in Charlottesville with no Internet (horrors!) I have returned to my usual neck of the woods. The hostel I've been staying at still has no power; since I'm not working Monday, I opted to return to NC with my parents, who will return me to Williamsburg tomorrow ( Read more... )

It is almost October and here it is still warm enough to call for tank tops, flip flops, and me putting my hair up in a bun to get it off my neck. AC is still on most of the time. Milkshakes and going swimming and cold lemonade are still appealing ideas ( Read more... )

I don't know why this particular song combination made me so happy, but it totally did.
