David's plan for Hook to be useful to Emma by serving as cannon fodder is my new favorite thing.
Zelena's stubborn single-mindedness is weirdly endearing. "I just gave you a big spiel about how you can't change the past and you should stop trying, and now I've brought you to meet my girlfriends, and we're here to help you!" "TO CHANGE THE PAST? :D :D :D" Oh, Zelena. Also Glinda is deeply naive and it is also endearing.
Excellent casting on the girl playing Dorothy.
Snow keeps losing her kids seconds after they're born. Now that's some bad luck. (And is it weird that my brain immediately jumped to what this means for Emma with regards to the order of succession? Yes. Yes it is. Snow and Charming don't even have a kingdom, Emma's expressed exactly zero interest in being a princess, she probably does not care that her brother has a stronger claim to the nonexistent throne than she does, assuming that kingdoms in the Enchanted Forest even work on male primogeniture which isn't at all a sure thing.)
And then Henry gives a stirring You Can Do It speech to Regina and I awwwww all over the place. (Although, seriously, Regina, if you can give True Love's Kiss while you don't have a heart I'm pretty sure you can manage some light magic.)
I am SO DELIGHTED with Regina's character development, you guys. "Heroes don't kill." "So now you're a hero?" "Today I am. :)" Making positive choices, atoning her for past bad decisions, not making the same bad decisions over again. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. WELL DONE. Rumplestiltskin still has a ways to go on that front, but then the dagger complicates things.
SPEAKING OF THE DAGGER. Wow. That makes things a little more complicated for Rumplestiltskin/Belle, doesn't it? ALSO AN ASSHOLE MOVE, RUMPLE. COME ON, GUY. POSITIVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. (Oh. And a Nice Job Breaking It, Hero moment. Even though he's not a hero. Zelena was defeated, powerless, locked away safely, and then YOU HAD TO GO AND DO THAT.)
BUT THE CHARMINGS ARE HAPPILY REUNITED. Finally, even if not for long. ♥ (WHAT IS THE BABY'S NAME.)
Next week the 2-hour season finale, when EVERYTHING GETS EVEN MORE COMPLICATED AND CONFUSING.
