Tired but Thinking

Jun 08, 2004 11:00

Today I am kind of tired. I didn't go to bed until 12:30 last night. Then I missed the first bus to go to work and barely got here on time. I posted my questions about Catholicism on the apologetics site I hope no one will be mean to me...these questions have been bothering me for a long time now. I don't want to get frustrated to a point where I won't even listen to anything about Catholicism. I guess what annoys me the most about it is that it seems a lot of Catholics are misinformed to the point where they are afraid to do anything outside of the Catholic doctrine that has no evidence in the Bible. I feel like people are being led astray in their beliefs because when it comes down to it, it is the Word of God that matters, not what the pastor says.

It's not only with Catholicism but also in many denominations where people get so caught up in the doctrine of the church rather than what the Bible actually says. I think this is one of the reasons the Church (Catholic and Protestant) as a whole has hurt believers and non-believers. They have gotten so caught up in tradition and the physical church that they neglect the congregation and the church that God creates within us. So many people in America don't even know why they are Christians other than it was handed down. They think if you play church on Sunday it's okay. So often they neglect to realize that CHRISTIANITY IS A LIFESTYLE NOT A RELIGION! My motto indeed. I even made a shirt with it. There, that's better. I had to get it out.
