The issue of drinking

Sep 08, 2007 21:16

Why is it that people seem to feel that they must make me feel like an outcast if I refuse to drink? Why is it that people feel the need to force alcohol into me by sheer peer pressure? Why can't it be acceptable that some people drink, and some don't want to? What if someone had been born by alcoholic parents and therefore was genetically wired to be more susceptible to addiction? You'd pressure him/her too just cuz it is seen to be culturally "acceptable"?

Please.. I'll drink when I want to, and however much I want to, and no amount of peer pressure will sway me from my choice. My body is my own, and to me, trying to force me to drink is the same as trying to force me to smoke.

Thank you.
