Why Mer/Der does not work for me.

I started watching Grey's Anatomy more than halfway through Season 1 (which was nine episodes long). The fact that that season ended with the revelation that Derek (a) was married, (b) slept with Meredith despite his marriage, and (c) never bothered to inform Meredith that "hey, I'm still kinda married to a bitch ho on the other side of the country who cheated on me with my best friend" really, really made an impression on me. And when Addison came to Seattle and asked Derek to either sign the divorce papers or try again, Derek tried to have it both ways and try again but stay loyal to Meredith. Which, of course, culminated in having sex with Meredith while he was on a date with his wife. Way to give your marriage a second chance, asshole.

For Derek to approach Meredith and say that she has to make a choice between him and Finn is just stupid and rude and up there with the time he called Mere a whore. HELLO, YOU ARE STILL MARRIED--you need to choose to divorce Addison before you can ever, ever, EVER approach Meredith and demand things of her.

After reading people's reactions to last night's Grey's Anatomy episode, I have come to the conclusion that there are two types of people in this world: those that try to justify the Meredith/Derek pairing, and those that don't.

Not only do I don't, but I want "McDreamy" to die in a fire. That Addison and Meredith set. And get away with.
