Reading:
The Ms. Scribe Story: An Unauthorized Fandom Biography: A damn good read. There's not much I can say about it that hasn't been said already. The fandom_wank wiki has a good overview of the whole thing. If you can't see the wiki (and I couldn't until I messed with my hosts file), here's a summary yanked from there:In short, using information gathered from IP addresses, public posts, shared locked posts, saved emails, and screencaps, CharlotteLennox alleged that Msscribe had successfully used a legion of sockpuppets (at least two which "stalked" her) to orchestrate her own rise to BNF in Harry Potter fandom. In the end, Msscribe held a coveted place within the Inner Circle, a close friend of Cassandra Claire.
The only contact I've had with the Harry Potter fandom is reading the occasional fanfic, or wank reports at fandom_wank (in other words: pretty clueless beyond CC's fame) and I found the work absolutely fascinating. Best book I've read this year, by far. You can read it at charlottelennox or her Journalfen account, but you really should read it at the Journalfen community bad_penny. That's where all the new information came out, and that's where the comment threads are almost as interesting to read as the story.

Watching:
Slowly working through Pitchfork Media's 100 Awesome Music Videos. Lots of songs I've heard of, some stuff I've never heard of. Some videos I watched and went "um..." and some I watched and sad "OMFG BOARDS OF CANADA RULEZ." (Okay, that only happened once, 'cause Boards of Canada only has one vid on the list, but I have been impressed by most of them.)
