Comments: An Aoi based oneshot this time, hopefully it turned out ok!
“Leave me alone!”- Someone was yelling out of frustration while walking insistently through a dark empty alleyway in the middle of an unfamiliar city.
“Would you just hear me out!?”-A firm voice coming from behind, pursuing the one ahead; almost losing sight of said person but helped by the flickering light bulbs around them.
It was almost midnight, with the city lights flashing at everywhere you could look. There was music, celebrities, wide screens on buildings, traffic jam, clubs and bars open. It has everything. The city that never sleeps.
There was Ruki, trying to get as far away as he could from Aoi kept walking through the alley, not having a single clue where he was going, and yet he didn’t seem to give the slightest care at that moment.
Aoi had been persistently following Ruki for almost an hour pleading for the other to stop; he was finally starting to lose his patience with the shorter one.
It had all started when the two were at a bar while on a business trip.
The two were knowingly close; it was more towards friendship rather than just being colleagues, often going for drinks after work hours, borrowing each other’s things and sharing past stories, though usually while drunk.
Colleagues at work would joke about the two's proximity occasionally, it was as if they were long lost brothers, almost.
Their boss had sent the two on a business trip for a meeting about the companies percentage rates, having there infamous reputation about their closeness, their boss decided to send the both together to get the job done.
The two had spare time while they were on this trip to roam around the city, the first place they went to was supposedly a known bar in the city the hotels secretary recommended.
Going to bars was almost like a ritual to them, giving both the time of their lives.
Ruki with his pampered, copper-colored curled hair attracted a bit of attention at this bar, it wasn’t everyday you saw a man that cared so much for his own appearance. Aoi on the other hand was with his ebony colored hair, slightly moist and shaggy, to the length to his shoulders.
As the two sat down at a table right around in a dark corner of the bar for a better view, it was pretty apparent the looks they got from the women there.
“She’s cute”- the shorter tilted his chin up to the woman’s direction.
“The blonde one?”- The taller one glanced with a bored expression on his face; his cheek leaned on his hand. -“She’s not my type.”
Ruki, pouting his lips. -“No one is ever your type.”
“What can I say? I’m a hard catch.”- Aoi scoffed.
Ruki, giving Aoi a questioning look takes a sip of his drink.
Aoi never seemed to take full interest in dating or anything of the likes, Every time the two would go out to places full of people; bars, clubs, you name it, Ruki would often try to persuade Aoi into talking to the women eyeing at him, but every time the taller would just give an excuse. Either she wasn’t his type, or he just wasn’t interested at the moment.
Ruki on the other hand was quite the charmer, often having fun with women swooning over him. Although he was never the type to take anything seriously, he just preferred having his fun while he was still young. Any serious commitment was just a turn-off. It’d be hard to convince a playboy like him to give his heart out for once.
After a few drinks the two became a tad drunk, laughing at the most simplest things they saw and joked about.
Just as they were laughing, Ruki was noticing how a blonde woman had been eyeing Aoi the whole time since they sat at the table.
Ruki, wanting to finally win this time seeing if he could convince Aoi to talk to the woman, even though slightly drunk - “So, what is your type~?”
The taller one appeared to be almost surprised, as Ruki never really seemed interested to get into too deeply on the topic of romance; he was always philosophizing on how young men should take advantage of their youthful age, not risking getter imprisoned on a leash by a woman.
Aoi taking a swallow more of his drink before trying to answering, changing his behavior from being childish and almost overly cheerful to more an indifferent look on his face.
“Hmm~, hard to say, I guess I don’t have a type~”
“No type, you say~?”- Ruki responds sarcastically.
The shorter one was unconvinced, it was impossible that a man was just so uninterested in having some “fun”. The only person he ever saw Aoi hanging out with was just….Ruki.
He wondered why though, was Aoi just not a sociable person? No, that isn’t it, seeing as he always had fun around the shorter. Or maybe he was hiding something? Saving himself for someone special?
Maybe his talk about the single life bothered the taller?
Just before he could get into any deeper thought a blond, long-haired woman walks towards their table.
She was quite the beauty, with her long legs, curvy hips, those big eyes with long lashes. Not to mention her smooth lips. Just her presence could take over the whole bar if she wanted to.
She then leans her elbows on the table, her hands cupping her face-“Hey, I see that you two are new here~”
Aoi kept back quiet, apparently uninterested in responding. He was used to this happening always when he was by Ruki.
“How’d you guess?”- Ruki responding in Aoi’s place, giving the taller one a short glare.
“I think I would remember seeing such charming faces around here, I’m the bartender at this place”-she winks.
Seeing his chance, Ruki commented with- “you know, my friend here was just mentioning how where we come from, you don’t see a lady quite as stunning as yourself.”
Aoi raising his eyebrows; awakening from his uninterested state, “wait, what are you do-“
“-But he’s a shy one, especially with one like yourself”- Interrupting Aoi.
“Aren’t you sweet~.”- She giggles, leaning in towards the taller ones direction.
The blonde woman, with a pleasant look on her face, touches Aoi’s shoulder and then swiftly lowers her hand down towards his, playing with his fingers.
The taller one becoming anxious tries to think of a new excuse as always, but even he noticed that her eyes really did compliment her golden blonde hair.
“How ‘bout we talk over there?”- The blonde glances over to the bar stand.
Aoi, looking as if a cat had gotten his tongue, is hardly able to respond.
“I..ugh…”
“Go, go! Don’t worry about me here~!”
Aoi turns his direction, only to see Ruki with an overly cheerful smirk on his face. He had only now figured out that he fell for the shorter ones trap.
Just as the taller unwillingly gets up to go with the blonde haired woman, he irritably looks back at Ruki’s direction wording out silently “I-am-going-to-kill-you.”
This only causes the shorter one to smirk and asks the waiter passing by for another drink.
After around 10 minutes have passed by, Ruki notices that Aoi is actually laughing with the blonde woman, even letter her put her hand on his arm.
He felt surprised, seeing the taller one finally enjoying himself with someone else, but just seeing Aoi enjoy himself was starting to feel rather strange than good.
Why though? Ruki had wanted the other to find a date for himself for ages, for both to go have some “fun”. He frequently noticed Aoi had an uncomfortable look on his face every time Ruki was with a date, he assumed the other was bothered always being the wing man.
While looking at his glass Ruki started to question why he was feeling uncomfortable all of a sudden, maybe it was because the two were always so close, and all of a sudden now Aoi was enjoying himself with someone else for a change, although it was Ruki who pushed the taller to talk with her.
Nah, maybe it’s just the drinks.
Thinking about it only urged Ruki to drink more, hoping it would weaken this constant thought about it. Just right then a brunette walks up to Ruki, asking if she could have a sit. Ruki charmingly agrees; already used to the whole dating routine, hinting at her to take a seat next to him, trying to convince himself that it’s probably because he’s without a date.
As he attempts to keep up with the conversation with her, he seemed practically deaf the whole time she was talking, he kept on thinking of a reason as to why seeing Aoi chatting with that woman was bothering him so much, almost every minute he would turn to the taller ones direction to check on how he was doing, only feeling displeased seeing the other enjoying himself.
“So what do you think?”- The brunette asks.
Finally coming out of his thoughts abruptly, he only nods to her, pretending he had been listening the whole time. He hadn’t even asked her name yet, or maybe she told him and he just didn’t pay attention.
All of a sudden Aoi comes back to their table to the shorter ones surprise. Suddenly Ruki starts becoming nervous; his throat dry and his chest tightening. What was this feeling?
He asks how it went. He had already seemed to have forgotten that the brunettes existence next to him.
“Ah well, she gave me her number”
“Oh, did she?” - Ruki unnoticeably starts tapping his fingers on the table.
“She was pretty nice, she asked to keep contact”
“Was she a good kisser?”
“Ah, we didn’t -“
Before he could finish his sentence, Ruki irritably stands up leaving the table, walking towards the bar's entrance doors.
“Hey! What about me?”- The brunette questions; offended with her arms crossed.
Only to be ignored by Ruki as he walks out the door, Aoi turns to the girl quickly apologizing and goes after the other, not understanding what had just happened.
Just as Aoi goes out the door a cold breeze of wind touches his skin, it had become quite cold since they went inside the bar. Turning his head looking for Ruki, he sees the other a few feet away from him smoking with his arms crossed.
“What the hell happened back there? You flipped out of nowhere.”
“I guess I’m just having a dry streak.”- Ruki responds mockingly.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Aoi only gave a stern look, questioning Ruki’s unexpected behavior. It was the first time he had seen the other acting so different from his usual self. Watching him fidgeting while inhaling his cigarette, he noticed that Ruki’s cheeks were a tad pink, probably from all the drinks he had.
“Was it because of the blonde woman?”-Aoi, breaking the silent asks.
This gave a chill up Ruki’s spine; he felt his muscles tightening and his heartbeat growing faster.
“Hah~? What do you mean?” continuing to look towards the street, avoiding Aoi’s face. He didn’t want to show his upset expression. He didn’t understand why though, there was nothing wrong. Everything was fine; maybe it was just the booze making him feel weird.
“Well…if you liked her that much, you could of have had her to yourself.”
Ruki than quickly turns around to deny that statement-“No, I didn’t want her! I-’’
But before he could finish his answer, he couldn’t see anything, not the streets, the lights, the bar right in front; everything had gone silent, he had dropped his arms down, causing the cigarette to fall to the concrete floor. All he did see was ebony hair touching his cheeks; feeling the delicate warmth of someone’s lips right against his.
Those few seconds felt like hours, as if time had frozen. The only thing that moved was the cigarettes smoke flowing around them, connecting the two.
A simple kiss on the lips, but so warm and tender; it’s funny how the touch of something so small and soft can heat up an entire body, making the body feel warm, as if their coats were useless compared to the delicate warmth of this kiss.
Regaining his senses back, he pushes the taller one away from him, wiping his lips. He felt confused and afraid. What had just happened?
What had Aoi done?
As Ruki looks up at Aoi, he sees the taller with a face filled with regret, like a teenage boy would look when rejected from his love confession.
But before Aoi could begin to explain himself, Ruki runs into the crowd of people on the street.
“Wait!”-He shouts before going after the shorter one.
Mixed into the crowd of people, it was hard keeping track of Ruki as he had to shove his way through pedestrians to get closer. But each step it seemed like Ruki had gotten only farther.
“Let’s go back to the hotel and talk this through!”- But Aoi’s voice couldn’t reach the other, as his voice was only muted by the crowd of people and traffic jam as loud as ever.
An hour had pasted since the “chase” had begun. The whole time Ruki didn’t even think of his actions, where he was going and what was going to happen, the only thing he wanted at that moment was to be alone, he refused looking back to check if Aoi was still following him, the thought frightened him. Seeing a dark alleyway, he enters it hoping he could lose the taller ones sight, unfortunately for him though just as he entered, Aoi had seen a glance of Ruki’s back entering the dark corridor.
It was hard seeing the other one as it was almost midnight and the only help there was were the flickering light bulbs; about to be burnt out at any second.
Losing his patience seeing Ruki only a few feet away from him; he speeds up, finally grabbing Ruki’s arm.
Startled, Ruki attempts to push Aoi away-“Let go!”
Aoi then holds tightly on Ruki's arm and pushes it backwards, pinning Ruki onto the brick wall of the alleyway, only a few inches away from each other’s faces. Aoi breathing right in front of Ruki’s lips and vice-versa, trying to catch each other’s breath after chasing the shorter one for so long.
Ruki tries to use his other arm to push Aoi’s shoulder away hoping to find an escape through it, but fails to as the taller also uses his spare arm to pin Ruki’s other arm too, leaving Ruki with both his arms up; his wrist tightened by the taller ones rough hands.
After of few seconds of silence from all the struggling, Aoi looks directly at the shorter one, but Ruki only averts his eyes looking towards their feet.
“If you would only listen to -“
“-Talk then.”
“I’m sorry for what I did…. It was uncalled for…”
Ruki waiting for the other to continue keeps on looking towards the floor. He didn’t want to continue thinking of a reason for Aoi’s reaction; he just wanted an explanation to get this over with.
“But I want to know…what happened back there at the bar?”
Ruki in almost a childish tone only responds-“I don’t know, it was nothing I guess.”
Unconvinced, Aoi provokingly replies “for something that was apparently “nothing”, you sure do know how to act out on your jealousy”
Aggravated, Ruki tilts his head up to defend himself, but just as he opens his mouth to respond he’s kissed forcefully by the taller.
The taller then proceeds to press his body onto Ruki’s, moving his left leg in between Ruki’s.
Ruki struggles but it’s no use, the taller has him bound to his kiss.
His lips were full, warm; the taste of his tongue was sweet, playing swiftly with the others, occasionally tugging the shorter ones lower lip with his teeth.
Ruki has unknowingly started to like the kiss, and starts to return the gestures. Aoi then lifts his leg up, pressuring Ruki between his legs making the shorter let out a weak grunt, even that kind of pleasure was too much for him to handle. Deciding to let go of the shorter ones wrist, Ruki wraps his arms around Aoi’s neck, slightly tugging his hair, while Aoi uses his own hands to grab Ruki’s hips, pressing down deep with his nails, pulling the other closer. This only makes Ruki let out a moan; biting the taller ones neck.
Biting his neck, he takes the chance to lick and suck it also, the smell of the others cologne made him only want to taste the taller ones skin even deeper, accidently leaving a red mark on his neck.
“Ruki…I..-“But Ruki interrupts him by biting his ear; tugging it, Causing Aoi to let out a moan that almost seemed silent. He didn’t want to hear what the taller had to say, he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to handle it.
There was no one there, just the two in that rusted alleyway, being corrupted by the two’s lust that filled the whole area.
The only ones that were watching them were the stars and the flickering light bulbs.
Aoi then proceeds to unbuckle Ruki’s pants, wanting to get more intense.
Noticing this frightens Ruki, reacting by forcing himself to push Aoi away. Both looking at each other shocked and panting; Aoi not understanding why he had been pushed, and Ruki not comprehending what had just happened; his mind was blank. The shorter one starts to shiver, though unable to tell whether it was caused from the cold air or that he himself felt “violated”.
Panting, Ruki starts walking back to where he came from the alleyway, avoiding looking at Aoi’s face, his long bangs were covering his own appearance, hiding his disgust.
But he wasn’t disgusted with Aoi. He was disgusted of himself. What did he just do? Even with a man, his friend. How had he never noticed Aoi’s feelings? Did he lead the taller one on unintentionally? For the first time he had felt as if his own body was garbage, not worth a single dime, who started this? Aoi, or himself?
As he leaves, Aoi becomes nervous, his heartbeat growing rapidly faster, his legs vaguely shaking. He didn’t know whether to be angry or afraid.
“I lov-“
-“I hate you.”
This phrase, the coldness coming with it, colder than the weather they were in. It was piercing ice, like it had stabbed Aoi through his chest.
Aoi just stood there, unresponsive, he was too shocked and hurt to say anything, even though he had always knew he would never have been felt the same way back, and almost given up hope, seeing Ruki react in that strange way at the bar gave him his chance, his chance to win the shorter one over, because he was the one Aoi always wanted.
He was his close friend; he admired Ruki for everything that he was. Even accepting that one day Ruki would have his own happiness with someone else. But he acted foolishly, instead of being his friend; he betrayed that trust and went against his boundaries and followed with his own desires and selfishness.
Before Aoi could respond, Ruki had started to run off.
Wanting to chase him again; to plead for forgiveness, but before he could, the flickering lights had burnt out. It was all dark and he had lost sight of Ruki, all he could hear was the others fading footsteps.
He was alone in the darkness, the same way how everything from then on would turn dark; he would never see Ruki again. He was all alone. Looking up towards the stars; wondering if he had lost everything, Ruki.
Days later returning to his office, he receives a letter on his desk; as he opens it the context in it was:
-“I’m sorry”.
Never again did he see or hear from Ruki.
It was rumored that Ruki had transferred departments, also changing his phone number and location. After time he had stopped searching for the shorter, doing that would only continue the pain inside even more. Aoi had hoped to one day reconcile with the shorter, not wanting anything in return, just for the two to go back to how it always was. Though he knew that that would be too much to ask for, he had violated the security, the trust and partnership of their friendship.
He was all alone, in his gray office; plain and lifeless, not even a portrait on the walls, It was a endless void. It was back to the boring office life again, but sometimes every now and then, even though it seems useless by now; he sometimes wondered what could have been.
In the end, he preferred not knowing.
