Ryutaro winced in pain once again as he spun to the right. When the music finally stopped, he sighed in relief and walked over to the bench. He masked his facial expression, so the others wouldn't notice especially Chinen. He just didn't want to worry them.
As he took a seat, Chinen smoothly sat next to him, kissing his cheek. As Chinen's face pulled away and Ryutaro was about to do the same, since this was their daily routine, the older boy pursed his lips together and asked, "What happened?"
Ryutaro blinked, confusion spreading around his mind. "What do you mean?"
"Your leg," Chinen simply answered, pointing to the right one. "How did you get hurt?"
"It's nothing," Ryutaro lied, hoping that Chinen would believe him.
Chinen rolled his eyes and then glared at Ryutaro. "Stop trying to act tough." Ryutaro could tell that Chinen was being serious and wasn't happy right now. Chinen placed his hand on top of Ryutaro's. "It just worries me more."
Sometimes Ryutaro wished that Chinen couldn't see through him so easily but this was Chinen after all. He was very perceptive when it came to things like this. Seeing as he couldn't hide anything, he confessed. "I was late so I rushed here and along the way, I tripped. I didn't bother to look at the damage."
"Let me see."
Ryutaro did as he was told as he showed Chinen the injury and also for the first time, saw it. He had skinned against part of his knee so that was why it had hurt more than usual.
"Wait here and don't move," Chinen ordered as he went off to most likely get a first aid kit. And as expected, a minute later, the small boy did so.
As Chinen applied some alcohol, Ryutaro hissed from the stinging, tiny tears forming at the corner of his eyes. He bit his bottom lip as the alcohol seeped into the injury.
Chinen glanced up and with sincerity said, "I'm sorry. I'll be more gentle." Ryutaro felt a bit embarrassed as Chinen began to blow on his wound softly. "Better?" he asked in between blowing.
Ryutaro nodded, his heart growing warm as Chinen dabbed some ointment and finally placed a bandaid over it. "A heart bandaid?" He raised an eyebrow as this and laughed a bit.
Chinen pouted and smacked his knee as Ryutaro cried out, "Ouch! What was that for?"
"A thank you would've been nice," Chinen mused as he covered Ryutaro's leg with the sleeve of the pants that he folded up earlier.
Ryutaro leaned forward and pressed his mouth against Chinen's briefly. "Thank you..."
Chinen broke into a smile. "I'll tell the others about your condition. We wouldn't want the wound to get worse right? And don't push yourself too hard." Then Chinen skipped off after he gave a tiny kiss to him.
Ryutaro's hand hovered over his knee, still remembering Chinen's gentle touch. He raised his eyes, seeing Chinen informing Daiki about him and smiled. "Thank you for caring about me."
