Note: This one is more a companion piece to two fics written by

The nightmare had been a bad one, and Sally had woken up with tears streaming down her face and her bedspread clutched firmly in her hands. She had sat there for a few moments, gulping in air and trying to calm herself down before letting the material go and getting out of bed. She needed to see Bill.
Bill was the only one who understood her nightmares. He was the only one who could ever make her feel better after them. Normally he would have been right there in bed next to her. But ever since they came to this snobbish place they had been seperated at nearly every turn. It was all their plot to split the two of them up. They had even gone so far as to place Sally in the bedroom at completely the other side of the manor. Of course this meant that a lot of sneaking had had to be done... and that even now she had quite a walk until she would reach his rooms. But nevertheless she slipped on her slippers and dressing gown and exited her bedroom.
She hurried down the many hallways as fast and as silently as she could. It was well into the night by now and she did not want to wake anyone up at this hour. It would only give them more fuel against her. So she was quick but cautious as she made her way to Bill's room. She was finally about to turn the corner to the hallway that housed it when, hearing something, she dived back behind the wall. Unable to stop herself she carefully peeked around the corner and the sight that greeted her eyes was enough to make her blood run cold.
Lady Jacqueline was stood outside of Bill's door, fixing her hair. It was 2 am, and Lady Jacqueline had been in her Bill's room. Sally blinked a few times trying to make sense of it, before the other woman walked off with a smirk on her face. Sally quietly made her way to Bill's door, keeping her eyes on the taller woman, questions constantly running through her head. Why was Jackie in Bill's room? And at this hour? But then, the answer hit her straight away.
As Lady Jacqueline finally dissapeared from Sally's view, the smaller woman let out a quiet unbelievable gasp. There could only be one answer, Bill had cheated. No, Bill wouldn't cheat and especially not with someone like that. But inside she knew and her heart was already breaking.
She quietly put a hand to Bill's door and pushed it open, peering inside. There was Bill, in bed and judging by the clothes strewn around the room, naked. The bed was a mess too. Nothing had truely prepared her for such a confirmation of her biggest fear coming true, and she hadn't realised she was running back to her own room until she had shut her bedroom door behind her and had collapsed on her bed.
Bill. Her Bill. Her true love. Her soulmate... had cheated. He had forsaken their relationship for a little bit of fun with that hussy of a woman. Why? Why had he done it? It made no sense to her at all! Bill had told her numerous times how much Lady Jacqueline terrified him. Though thinking about it now, maybe he was more afraid of what she made him feel like.
Either way, Sally didn't overly care now. Her heart had just been demolished completely. Her life was now in tatters and she didn't know what to do. The Lambeth girl in her was yelling at her to go slap that man silly for what he had done, but she wouldn't. She couldn't hurt him. Even after all he had just done to her, she couldn't hurt him. She wouldn't even go and confront Lady Jacqueline for that would only bring the other woman immense pleasure. But what could she do?
There was no way she could stay here. No way. She may have just lost the man she had loved and trusted, but she still had her dignity. Or what remained of her dignity anyway. She just felt so foolish for even coming here in the first place. She had just been nothing but an embarrassement to Bill, and to everyone else. He would be much better off with someone of that social status. Not someone like her, lowest of the low. And maybe he had finally realised that. But to cheat on her? That hurt the most.
She would have accepted it easier if he had just told her outright and let her leave. But no. All those times she had said she was leaving and he had begged her to stay... all for this to happen. No more. No more. She would go back home to Lambeth, before she broke completely. And nothing would stop her.
Tears streaming down her face, she quickly pulled out her still half packed suitcases and began chucking the rest of her clothing into them. It wasn't long however, before the events finally took it's toll on her, and she sagged against the wall. Covering her face with her hands, she sobbed long and hard as she collapsed on to the floor. And that was how she stayed until she finally cried herself to sleep.
