A Long Awaited (Ha) Update
Life is going well. School is good, but I get the feeling like I'm putting off to many things until the last minute. It's bound to bite me in the rear later, right? I'll survive somehow.
We had our ASB Reunion Meeting tonight - it was kind of amazing. The slideshows brought back lots of memories. I love that club. It's changed me so much, and I'm so glad I got involved. Antoine and I just watched our slideshow from last year...man. So many fantastic memories. Jen - I have to give it to you. I wish that week could've lasted forever...or that the seven of us could still be as close as we once were...
Anyways. I can't complain. I'm enjoying the friendships that are still growing, and the new ones that are starting up. I need to stop thinking about and getting upset over the ones that have stopped or are approaching that point.
I've been planning Reunion lately; it makes me feel good to get back to doing it. I know I haven't exactly been adhering to my former values as much as I'd like to, so I need to get back to that. I'm not entirely sure I'm liking the person I've started to become...so I need to make a few changes in that aspect. It's all good, though.
Antoine and I had a long conversation on racism tonight. It was awesome. I love how we can just sit around and talk about stuff like that without fighting and actually have constructive discussion. Yay!
Elections are starting up, as well as the drama involved. I just hope they don't decide to piss off the Election Board again this semester...last semester was rough enough. I think some of these kids need to get a life. Haha. Ah well...as long as it's us making decisions and not being brought to court again, I'll be good.
I'm starting work on my thesis research...it's really exciting. To finally have a purpose and projected goal is a very nice thing. And when December comes around, it'll be great to have a finished monstrosity of a paper to show for it. One that I can send to grad schools and say, "Look at this shit I've been writing for the past year. You know, the type of thing that's required for a Master's degree. Gimme money, betches." (Like I'd ever really say that...but you know).
Oh, and I'm going to Spain in May to see Robert. I'm stoked in that respect; looking forward to practicing my Spanish again and getting a chance to see a different part of Europe. I think we'll even head to Morocco! Hopefully I can get a good internship/REU for the summer to pay off some of my savings that I'll be spending (lol). I think I have a chance at one of the, like, seven places I'd apply. :)
Well...I think that's enough of a random update for those of you that "never hear anything about my life". There ya go. I'll try to be more frequent...but we'll see.
